Leaping on this thread too.
I'm in the market for a monitor or TV in the £300-ish range (or $600 and down). Less than 32" is fine. No 1080 is fine. Looking for specific model recommendations.
Gratitude in advance.

32" and a functional monitor? LCD for you.
I'd look at the Samsung LN32A450, myself. 720p, good colour. Or else the sharp LC32D44U. Very close units.

Same here. I'm looking for a rather decent telly that's able to handle HD nicely, gives me at least 3 HDMI ports, not all too shoddy sound (I know, sound is usually the real weak spot of these...), and, well, has a pricetag of no more than say 800€.
The LG ELECTRONICS 32LG6000 is supposedly quite decent. Though I tend to be wary due to it being very close to the 500€ watershed of piss poorishness.
I guess the prerequisite, that it should be good for playing games on it should be clear, given where on the forum this thread is located...

Be very, very wary of LG. They, like Toshiba, offer a lot of similar features to high end LCD sets. The 120hz, the smoothing technology, but they're really lackluster sets. They look bright and pretty, but you sacrifice quality when you buy them.
If you're using predominantly for gaming, there's only one tv you should be snatching in this size: The Sharp Aquos 32LC-GP3U. The vyper drive eliminates input lag and makes it fantastic for gaming. Certainly the guy you should be looking for. I've not had the pleasure of using it myself, but a mate of mine picked one up and just raves about it.
There's nowhere I can't reach.
