Well Chris IS in a group that now specialises in taking care of Bio weapons, I doubt they would be dumb enough NOT to pair him up with a partner in dangerous areas. And would you rather have an AI partner watch your back, or someone you know that can control Sheva properly?
Not to mention you can drop health items if the other person needs it, essentially you now have more inventory space and someone else to grab stuff you may have missed. Resident Evil latly seems to have the characters go into dangerous areas on purpose for missions as oppose to being caught in a situation and trying to escape, so it makes sense to have your team members working together.
And even in RE2, when Claire found Leon again, I didn't see any logical reason for them to seperate aside the fact that the game was designed that way. I think in a real situation when they met up again, they would partner up and make their way out of there. If there's a zombie situation, I would defintly wanna be working with someone then going alone.

If it comes down to spending time with you or getting eaten by zombies, I'm siding with the evil dead. It's good, though, that you know how you would react logically in the fact of a zombie attack. I'm assuming you have real world experience that would lead to your assumptions about logic in the face of the attacking zombie horde.
Please never use the word logic in a post again if you expect us not to burst out laughing given its source.
There's nowhere I can't reach.
