I agree, Rotor. I don't think Marvel is in the death throes, they're just not what I'm into right now. (Read: I've been all over Kingdom Come again, Strangers in Paradise, Blankets, Dark Knight Returns etc.) It's indicitive of everything that is wrong with Marvel for my tastes. I can just see Hulk being all Hulk Smash, and then he'll go toe to toe with Iron Man for a bit, maybe Logan for old time's sake, and then some massive planetary enemy is going to show up (probably the Skrulls... krulls... whatever, again) and Hulk will team up with Iron Man to save the world, and the Cap'n will probably come back and he and Hulk will make out and Spider-Man will be there for no reason.

It's stuff like that, Elektra being a skrull, that sends me running back to Preacher, Bone and Sandman. I guess I just like my comics a little more Kingdom Comeish. Heavy on the philosophy.

The spin offs written by Gaiman are all solid, the other stuff can be a bit shakey. I LOVE Dream Hunters. BEST SPINOFF EVER.
