This week was not a good week for Minecraft. After dying twice in caves, losing 10 diamonds' worth of tools in the process, I decided to screw caves for a while and work on one of the projects I'd been bouncing around in my head.
6 hours and a dozen falls to my death later, and what do I have to show for it?
A ladder on the way to my backyard.
The ladder is encased in glass on all sides.
And it opens up into a glass tube floating in midair.
Turn left, and you see a half finished portion. I'm currently messing with water physics to see if I can make a flume ride.
In the meantime, I made an observation deck to look at the bitchin' cliff my house is across from.
Turn right from the entrance and you wind through a path that takes you through the other of two holes that this cliff has in it, all the way around the cliff...

and ending with a diving board.
It's very high up.
GERONIMOOOOO

The only downside at this point is there's no quick way to get back up there. I'm trying to do as little damage to the outer facade of the cliff as possible, so I need to find a way to hide a cave that gets you back to that ladder. Anyway, this is what it looks like from in the backyard and in the preview tool:

I hope this bit of GENTLEMEN BEHOLD meets with approval.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
