Look at it this way: The power source is designed to sacrifice itself in case of a power surge. It carries an electrical charge at all times, and opening it can potentially be deadly. If your power source goes bad, you NEVER try to fix it. Just replace it. The same goes for CRT monitors.
And all you need to clean your CPU fan is a can of compressed air. 5 bucks at CompUSA/Circuit City.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
