/r spoil tags. YOU RUINED AQ40 FOR ME YOU BITCH. >=( There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
But C'thun looked BADASS. I WANTED TO BE ABLE TO GO "HOLY SHIT WE HAVE TO BEAT THAT?" WHEN I SAW HIM THE FIRST TIME. YOU RUINED IT FOR ME. ;_; This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
Ahahahahaha YES. "OH SHIT I DID ONE DAMAGE! 8,999 TO GO! =D =D =D"
But DAMN, that's a crazy amount of damage that thing does. 1,703,648,256 damage? Yikes. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
Yay... shammy review info.
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...p=1#post532462 Only problem is... we got buffs WHERE WE DIDN'T WANT THEM. Still have to spend 10 points to get Mana Tide (which is STILL a 31 point talent, DESPITE Druids AND Mages getting their mana regen talent as a trainable skill), no real viability in healing (I would've really liked a non-totem HoT like Renew, but noooooo), and... our elemental trees got buffed to the point where we'll probably be about equal with Hunters and Warlocks in PVP. Yippee. Only problem is, that unless we're willing to spend 50 gold and respec every time we go on a raid, we won't be able to use the spiffy new PVP abilities because we're going to be pigeonholed into Restoration, which is STILL FUCKING GIMP IN SOLO AND PVP. And to think that yesterday, I was optimistic about being able to raid without being relegated into the role of a sub-par buffer. =\ I was speaking idiomatically. ![]()

a) buff the entire raid, b) move with the shaman, c) last a half hour longer than they do while costing less, d) provide class-specific buffs instead of "okay, here's a Tranquil Air Totem, MT and healbot." One totem (which also faces the problems inherent in every totem: only buffs group, costs ass-tons of mana, lasts all of 2 minutes, and is stationary, rendering it useless in fights where you move around a lot) does not fix the entire system. =\ What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
Holy Shit.
Easiest encounters in Naxx about the difficulty of Twin Emps? OI. FELIPE NO ![]() |
I am a complete asshole. =D
I just left my second guild, because the leader was never on and outside of one guy, we never really did much in terms of instances. So the second-in-command decided to set up a new guild, and sent me a letter of invitation. And tonight, I sent my old GM a letter saying farewell... and I also included a copy of the invitation. Assholish? Yup. Likely to cause bad blood between my old guild and my new one? Fuck yes. Likely to cause insane amounts of drama? Uh-huh. But that's why I did it. >=D What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
Ignore them, period. You're gimping yourself unnecessarily by specing 0/0/51.
Imp. HS is good, as it's a high-aggro move that does damage, and less rage for that move is a GOOD THING. Deflection is incredibly nice for tanking, and TM is vital for ANY warrior, especially one who stance-dances (which any good warrior should do, even if they're tanking; OP anybody?). So... yeah. Prot is good for tanking, but going full prot is just gimping yourself in anything but MT'ing. You can do just as good with your current spec as you can with 51 points in Prot. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
Something sorta-but-not-really related to WoW:
So I have a bumper sticker which I've got on my car, which reads: "My other ride is a Great White Kodo." My colleagues at work pester me about it, wanting to know what it's talking about, but I've never told them and they eventually gave up. Today though, as I was getting into my car after class, I noticed a slip of paper stuck under my windshield wipers. Curious, I grabbed it and unfolded it, and saw a message, reading "Your bumper sticker kicks ass! *insert name here which I've forgotten*, 60 NE Priest, *insert server here which I've forgotten*" I was smiling all the way home. ='D There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
Hooray, my shammy dinged 44 today.
Now I can run Zul'Farrak and ditch SM Cath and Uldaman! WOOT. HAPPY. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
I have a... 17 gnome lock on that one, but I almost NEVER play him.
I actually find warlocks... sorta boring. =\ I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
Daggers are a skill you can train for.
Second, I would've left the second that shammy ninja'd the chest, no second thoughts. ESPECIALLY when the leader didn't care. And blacklisted both the shammy and the leader from grouping. To that end, I suggest you download the Cosmos UI mod, at http://www.cosmosui.org/. It includes a LOT of useful things, one of them being a note taker that watermarks when a character joins your party, completes a quest with you, and custom quotes that you can do yourself. I use it to mark ninjas/assholes/shitty players. But seriously, there's no reason for you to take that shit. Period. I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |
Well, got my shammy to 45 tonight on a ZF run. =D
I'm still sore about Druids and Mages getting their mana regen talent free, though. =\ What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
Enhancement, though, got some major nerfs so that now you have to spend 30 points in it in order to get to 1.10 level damage, compared to 22 before. The new Stormstrike is supposed to be godly, though. (although I do wish they'd extend the debuff to fire/frost/nature...) FELIPE NO ![]() |
What would I do in this case? See if you can drag along your friends into the raiding guild with you. If you can't, then roll an alt and put him in that guild so that you can still keep in touch with your friends and put your main into the raiding guild.
If nothing else, the alt will be a good way to relax. Raiding can be a bitch sometimes. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
Consider how many RAIDING guilds there are on your average server (which have to have at LEAST half as much as the total pop of this private server), then consider how many non-raiding/endgame guilds there are, and then consider how massive the game is. So... yeah, it's prolly better to stick with a subscription. ![]() Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
Ooooooo. Well, this is definite yay. Gonna make some NICE money crafting Arcanite as soon as I'm able. ='D
There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
Wheee, drama and entertainment tonight.
So I was finishing up running some mid-to-high 30s and a 40 through SM Cath, when I got a tell from a rogue. Earlier today, I had run ZF with him, and we had a pretty good run... if you count us missing out on Bly because two of the members were dickheads and couldn't listen to the group leader (me) telling them to GET THE FUCK BACK HERE, and then the rogue getting pissy because a hunter from my guild out-rolled him on Jang'thraze the Protector as a good run. Granted, he had a point, but he overreacted a bit. He did calm down, though. Aaaanyway, I agreed to go along because hey, he had a priest and I was tired of healbotting ZF. He quickly found a mage and a warrior, and we headed there. And proceeded to wipe on the second group of mobs. The mage had TERRIBLE aggro management. Put simply, he would spam Fireblast, and when a mob went near, he would spam CoC and THEN Frost Nova, instead of just Frost Nova and letting others beat on it so that the squishy DIDN'T DIE. The worst part was, though, was that he claimed that he knew how to play the class, because he had a 60. A few moments later, he claimed that Cone of Cold WAS NOT AN AOE. -_- So he left, and we four-manned it for a bit, then found a hunter. Around this time, the warrior got pissy because we had it set to master looter, with it set up so that the rogue decided rare BOPs, and we rolled on greens unless somebody needed. So the warrior, deciding to be a douche, TRIED to train a bunch of mobs, but only succeeded in getting a single troll and a few scarabs before fleeing. Somehow, despite me not wearing half of my armor because I <3 the way I look without it (Stylish Red Shirt FTW), we didn't wipe. And then, ANOTHER rogue I know, who is one of the best god damn rogues I know, sent me a tell, saying, "Dude, were you just in a group with *warrior's name*?" "Yeah." "Could you tell *other rogue* that he's a douchebag and fuck off because he's whoring master looter?" "Dude, a) he's not hoarding all the loot. We roll on greens unless we need, and we decide who gets the rare BOPs. b) The guy is a fucking terrible tank who doesn't listen to advice, such as "Use sunder armor. It gets good aggro." or "Use a sword and board. More armor = more mitigation = less damage = less heals = more priest mana = less wipe chance." "Okay, I believe you because I know you wouldn't lie about something like this. I'll try and set the guild straight on it. Oh, and the thing about that war is that two people play him: a boy and a girl, and the girl... sucks, to be kind." So, yeah. Much fun to be had tonight. But hell, the entertainment and drama were well worth the 80s repair bill after we wiped on Antu'sul (at which point the priest left without a word) and we quit and I spirit rezzed. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
Ran Maraudon last night for my first time. Did a full run, too. Ran with a 58 shammy, two hunters, and a mage. Surprisingly, despite the lack of a tank, we did really well. And it was fun as hell.
Truly, shamans are the king of 5-man instances. =D All gloats aside, I have to say this: Mara CREEPS ME THE FUCK OUT. There's just something about the artwork that makes me shudder, and the creeping sludges... >_< I'd HATE to be a rogue or warrior fighting those things. I won a Soothsayer's Headdress off Celebras (which I equipped over my old Engineer's Guild Headpiece), so it's a big upgrade. And YES, I'm aware that it's a fucking leather drop, but a) before I was using some green Eagle helm that gave MAYBE +7 stam/int, and IMO, the extra AC from the best mail caster helm I can get off AH, the High Bergg Helm, doesn't make up for the lost intellect. Besides, the cheapest I've seen it in AH is about 50 gold, and b) I look fucking badass in my hat. =D I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
Mother fucking... God dammit, Now I'm pissed off again.
Shaman's CM posted on the forums tonight "hay guys 1.11 is going up as it is, no second review for you. be patient, give us This is AFTER two threads where both he and ANOTHER CM solicited feedback, and got over 20 pages' worth of it. So basically, here's what happened: -People like Nert and Zifna post issues and suggestions MONTHS before 1.11 is even announced, much less the shaman review that comes with it. -Eyonix announces "hay guys shaman review w/ mages in 1.11." Much rejoicing is done. -People post MORE feedback. -Eyonix lists changes. Long and short of it: WF nerfed to half its power in 1.10. Buff totems normalized into a 2 minute timer. Mana costs reduced for totems. Talents consolidated here and there. No trainable Mana Tide (or even moving it to a lower tree like Pallies got with Blessing of Kings). No totem fixes. No raid fixes. Just elemental (AKA PVP) buffs, that were neither asked for nor wanted. Around this time, the EU Shaman CM more or less says that the months of feedback NEVER reached the desks of the developers. Mages get a similar-quality review. Druids get Innervate, a 31-point talent of similar purpose and quality to Mana Tide for free. -Eyonix takes sick leave, Tseric and Drysc replace him and ask for feedback. 20 pages of feedback follows, but outside of the occasional post, Tseric and Drysc more or less remain silent, do not give devs' response to feedback. -Much "WTF?" ensues, both from shammies and mages. Devs re-review mages, tweak shammies VERY slightly, but continues to ignore issues for shammies. -Eyonix returns from sick leave, and asks for MORE feedback. ANOTHER 20 pages follows. Then, tonight. Eyonix says that he just got all that feedback to the developers. Feedback from MONTHS ago just got to the devlopers, and it is revealed that 1.11 is over as far as development is concerned. Most aspects of the shaman class are now locked out. In other words, our review is over, with nothing that we wanted and everything we didn't. He then says that we will get further attention in coming months, but gives no specific timeframe. We don't know if it is going to be in the form of hotfixes, or 1.12. All in all, this review has turned out just as bad as the pally review. God dammit, this thing has been such a fucking rollercoaster. And in the end, nothing we needed has been looked at, enhancement turned into an all-or-nothing build that is looking to be gimp compared to the unnecessarily bufed Elemental tree, and restoration is still gimp, and what little solo ability we had before has been completely removed. The ONLY thing that keeps me playing a shaman is that I'm not 60 yet, I have several friends on the server that I'm levelling with, and that the class has been barrels of fun so far. OY. How ya doing, buddy? ![]()

Seriously, play a shaman to 60. Get into a raiding guild. If you're not forced into Mana Tide and healbotting, then try to seriously DPS. Any way that you like. And if you're not booted from the raid and /gkicked, watch as you go out of mana within 5 minutes, even with conservation, and are stuck auto-attacking, praying for a Windfury proc yet dreading one because if it crits too much you'll get aggro and die. THAT is what the review was supposed to fucking address. We're fine in PVP, and we didn't want a PVP buff. You've obviously never fucking played a shaman if you think we're overpowered. Our totems are all but worthless in anything past MC/Onyxia, to the point of even being a potential cause of a wipe in some instances, and this review does NOTHING to change that. Nor does it change anything to allow a shammy specced anything other than Mana Tide to bring something unique and useful to the table. Again: THE PROBLEM IS NOT THAT WE ARE WEAK. THE PROBLEM IS THAT WE ARE PIGEONHOLED INTO A WEAK SPEC FOR ANYTHING BUT RAIDING, AND THAT WEAK SPEC ONLY MARGINALLY IMPROVES OUR ROLE IN RAIDING, WHICH IS A THIRD-STRING HEALBOT, AND THIS REVIEW DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO CHANGE THAT, DESPITE ESSENTIALLY GIVING DRUIDS THE FREEDOM TO SPEC ANY WAY THEY WANT IN THE SAME PATCH. How can you honestly support the idea that a HYBRID, an OFFENSIVE hybrid no less, should be stuck doing nothing but healing in a raid? I find it exceedingly pathetic that core classes like warriors and priests are more hybrid than us in raid situations. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]()

Oh, yes, totems. Which is supposed to make us as "good" as pallies at buffing.
If you honestly think that we are anywhere near effective at buffing, take a look at this topic: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...p=1#post552980 To make a long story short, our totems cost more per person per minute than a pally's Greater Blessings, are less effective, only affect a shaman's party (and not the whole raid), and on top of this, 4 pallies can provide nearly 4 times as many buffs as 4 shammies (I think the max a shammy can provide under absolute ideal circumstances is 15 buffs per shammy, whereas a single pally can provide 40 buffs, PLUS an aura that effects his party). Oh, and let's not forget the drawbacks of totems, which include aggro problems (already touched on), static nature (makes them useless in AQ), and massive cost (I think the cost to keep a party fully buffed over 15 minutes for a shammy is in the tens of thousands, whereas a pally spends... nothing. He doesn't have to interrupt mana regen, can put them on the party before battle, and drink to regain mana)... how can anybody say that there ISN'T a massive imbalance between a pally and shammy in terms of buffing abilities? And an imbalance between shammies and pallies is an imbalance between Alliance and Horde. In other words, with this review, Blizzard wasn't just reviewing shaman, they were reviewing the entirety of the Horde in terms of raiding, yet they failed to so much as touch on our raid viability. So fucking frustrated. >=( FELIPE NO ![]() |
Seriously, the ONLY people who are somewhat happy with these changes are either Blizzard fanboys who take their word as God's, or elemental PVP shammies. The rest are just looking confusedly at seeing Resto's already pitiful damage being nerfed into oblivion (Windfury attack power halved for the lose), while getting almost nothing back in return except shit like Nature's Grace and Healing Focus (which I WILL admit is nice. 70% chance to avoid interruption on ALL healing spells? Hello Healing Wave/Chain Heal usefulness), and Enhancement shammies are looking confusedly at a tree which now all but forces 31 points into it for good (and incredibly unreliable) damage, where before it only took 22. If you think this is a good review, then you don't understand a god damn thing about shaman and apparently don't want to learn, either, considering that I've said what shaman problems are in this exact same thread. EDIT: Quoted for truth, Crazied. All my Alliance characters are collecting dust, because I... well, I just find alliance side utterly BORING. Shame that they're the side which has easy-mode raiding. ![]() What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]()

Seriously. You ask for a Hawaiian pizza, and get a Supreme. And what's worse, it turns out that the person who took your order completely ignored you and just handed a random ticket to the cooks. If that happened, you would be bitching over the phone at the manager, and probably wouldn't be giving your business to that place again. It's the exact same thing with this review. We asked for PVE buffs because we are the counterpart to paladins, who are quite simply AMAZING at PVE (best buffs in the game + incredible healing efficiency FTW), while shammies are quite literally little more than liabilities. Instead, the CMs ignored our feedback, and we got PVP buffs, minor healing buffs, and a band-aid fix on the totem system, when it needed surgery. How is that a good review?
How hard is it to make a macro that you can mash to target a totem, attack, and then re-target the shammy, ESPECIALLY since hunters and warlocks have macros that do the same with their pets? And besides, if you're complaining about an AOE ability (which the fucking manual states totems are immune to) being unable to kill totems, then I dunno what to say. I just can't comprehend such sheer idiocy and lack of comprehension for game balance.
EDIT:
Elemental: Nothing at ALL except damage that doesn't ever approach that of a mage. Enhancement: +9 to our strength buff, and melee that is so unreliable and bursty that it had a high chance of pulling aggro and causing a wipe? WHOOPIE! And druids? They bring +3% to crit for either spells or melee, depending on what they focus on. Yet they were being pigeonholed into Resto because Innervate was so good that it overruled the others. And now they get Innervate for free. Yet shammies, who are ALSO pigeonholed into Resto for Mana Tide, AND bring nothing viable for a raid outside of Resto, got... PVP buffs. And no free Mana Tide. The thing that you don't realize, Zio, is that the shaman review wasn't just a chance to balance Shaman raiding, it was a chance to balance raiding for an entire faction. Paladin buffs are so incredibly useful that comparing Horde and Alliance raiding is like comparing two wheels, one round and one in the shape of an octagon. This review was a chance to bring Horde raiding to the level of Alliance raiding, and it did absolutely nothing in that regard. A game which requires double the amount of one faction-specific class to buff a raid (worse than the opposing faction-specific class, might I add) than an opposing faction-specific class, while the one requiring double also gimps the DPS and healing of the raid in the process, is NOT A BALANCED GAME. How hard is it to understand that? Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]()

Yes. Humans can be either warlocks, mages, paladins, or warriors, IIRC.
Personally, it sounds to me like you'll end up being a Hunter. They can do passable melee DPS (although most of their close-range attacks are more focused on getting range than anything), but where they REALLY shine is at range, firing their guns or bows. They're the only class that can actually USE guns quickly (although warriors and rogues used to be able to, but that was nerfed to oblivion), and they have things like stings (debuffs which can either drain your mana, drain your strength/agility, do damage over time, and if you spec for it, put somebody to sleep, as a form of CC), pets (which can do INCREDIBLE melee DPS if you spec for it), and have the single best aggro dump in the game (Feign Death). There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
