I can't believe I missed this one. I'll definitely be keeping my eyes open for the next one sometime in the future.

I still think it will be interesting to see how this one plays out though. Good luck to all of you guys.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I'll still need a few more days here. I don't have one of those new fangled cheating devices, so everything takes a bit longer.

That's alright though, I had a couple to leverage from old teams, and I've finished one more. So I'm about half way there. Expect me to be finished by this Thursday at the latest.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Alright. It has taken a little longer than I expected, but I've finished my team and am ready to start.

I work tonight until around 6pm EST, but when I get home I'll start issuing challenges.

Though I think I have most, if not all of you guys already, here's my friend code in any case: 2406-1602-4421.

Feel free to message me, as well. My AIM/MSN are listed, and you can always PM me.

EDIT: Also, what's the word on submitting our rosters to an unbiased third party (Rotorblade or otherwise)? Should we go ahead and do so if we have not already?

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Black Mage vs. Chaotic: Grass vs. Fighting

I stole your format and double posted.

Round One (6v6):
Grass against fighting; this match up promised to be interesting. Neither grass nor fighting inherently has an advantage over the other when looking strictly at the base types. However, with many grass Pokemon sharing the Poison attribute, and fighting’s varied typing I did not know what to expect from Chaotic. But I learned. Oh did I learn. The match started off fairly normally. With a bit of luck on my side I managed to connect with a fairly low accuracy move. It allowed me to get an early lead by knocking Chaotic’s lead, a major threat to my team, out. But that certainly did not deter him. In fact, he matched me blow for blow the rest of the match. When one of my Pokemon knocked his out, his followed suite and returned the favor. We followed this pattern until we ran out of Pokemon, leaving Chaotic with one and me with two. At this point, Chaotic’s hand was forced, and we ended the match.

Black Mage wins
Pokemon Black Mage lost: 4
Pokemon Chaotic lost: 6 (5 + 1 from running)

Round Two (3v3):
I was worried about this match having experienced Chaotic’s team from the last round. He definitely had enough Pokemon that I dreaded seeing again to fill three slots. I led with one of my “benched” Pokemon from the last round to switch things up, and I was lucky in that I guessed Chaotic’s lead. Dispatching the first Pokemon didn’t stop Chaotic though, as he swiftly exacted merciless justice on my team. Not before my lead had weakened his Pokemon a tad. Chaotic’s demon chariot was released, however, and quickly obliterated my second Pokemon, leaving me with nothing but my own bitter tears. Fortunately, there was a bump on the ground and the chariot's aim was off, which allowed my Pokemon to set up and stall for a second win.

Black Mage wins
Pokemon Black Mage lost: 2
Pokemon Chaotic lost: 3

Round Three (3v3):
Round 3 was everything I feared. Bloodlust, cold blooded murder, and nothing but the sound of the forest being razed to the ground. Chaotic knew what he was doing and he cut my strands of grass to pieces one by one. I couldn’t get any momentum amid the bloodied cries of my dying Pokemon.

Seriously, this match was an absolute slaughter.

Chaotic wins!
Pokemon Black Mage lost: 3
Pokemon Chaotic lost: 0

Round Four (3v3):
Coming out of the last match with nothing but the hedge clippings of my team, I decided it was time to switch things up. I did the only thing I could think of and tried to prepare for the sweeping monster from before. Chaotic threw me for a loop though, and led a different Pokemon. Though one no less fierce. I managed a lucky hit from the start, but then did not see Chaotic’s move coming and lost the advantage I just gained. Chaotic proceeded to punish my mistake and ONE-SHOT-SUPER-EFFECTIVE murdered my pocket monster. Fearing the worst, I threw my original monster back out there and Chaotic made an excellent move which caused me to waste a turn. Excellent prediction on his part. I lucked out though, and was given some time to setup and was able to knock it out. I didn’t have much of a choice at this point, as his hell-spawn demon beast had returned. Fortunately, this time I had already set up. Despite that, it was barely enough to defeat his Pokemon. Chaotic’s last pokemon, the dreaded CHARIOT, returned, striking fear into the hearts of all that beheld it. Having already setup, though, I was able to keep it at bay for some time. Eventually, Chariot regained its footing ready to ruin my day, but it was just too late and I managed to barely scrape out a last win.

Black Mage wins
Pokemon Black Mage lost: 1
Pokemon Chaotic lost: 3

Black Mage wins the match
Total Pokemon Black Mage lost: 12
Total Pokemon Chaotic lost: 10

Amazing matches. Luck was definitely on my side at certain points, as moves that usually miss were hitting almost every time. Any single one of those matches (Except round 3 ) could have turned the other way at any point. Great matches, Chaotic!

Black Mage vs. Kairyu: Grass vs. Ice

Don’t look at me like that. It was really cold.

Round One (6v6):
This is definitely one of the match ups I was dreading, and most certainly one I tried to plan for when picking my team. Though, judging from the results you would not be able to tell. I tried to guess which abominable snowman Kairyu would lead with, but in the end I was completely wrong. My lead hung on through the initial snow storm but was swiftly pelted to death. My lead managed to help out a little, and allowed me to bring down one of the ice monsters, but speed coupled with pin-point accuracy lead my entire teams demise before they could make it past Kairyu’s third.

Kairyu wins
Pokemon Black Mage lost: 6
Pokemon Kairyu lost: 1

Round Two (3v3):
After dusting the snow off of the frostbitten remains of my team, I decided to switch up a little bit and introduce an unlikely contender (for the simple reason that he was not four times weak to Ice). He got one good lick in, if you use the term good loosely, and was promptly dispatched. My switch in swatted away Kairyu’s lead, but in vain as his next monster decided it was to become a vegetarian. And it was hungry.

Kairyu wins
Pokemon Black Mage lost: 3
Pokemon Kairyu lost: 1

Round Three (3v3):
Having decided my only chance lay with the Pokemon I was already using, and with the experience of the last battle, I knew this one wasn’t going to be much different. I give Kairyu credit, however, as he was a good sport and switched things up each round, even though he more than likely could’ve shut me out me using the same Pokemon. It mattered not, however, as despite forcing a switch from Kairyu, it was just too much to handle.

Kairyu wins!
Pokemon Black Mage lost: 3
Pokemon Kairyu lost: 0

Kairyu wins the match
Total Pokemon Black Mage lost: 12
Total Pokemon Kairyu lost: 2

Good games Kairyu! I can’t say I had a sound strategy for your blistering Ice types, and even if I had I can’t say I’d have expected much of a different outcome!

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?
