I've found that the time of day has a lot of impact on my ability to focus on my studies. I'm at my best for studying early in the morning. Unfortunately, I have a hard time disciplining myself to go to bed early enough, so most days I get things done in little increments between other activities.
Another time of day that allows me to work better is late night, though that one is rather hard to stick to as well since my girlfriend tends to be KO'd after midnight, and that makes it so that staying up all night working would only end up in the two of us never seeing each other, so that's out of the questions.
I guess my best option would be to get up at 4 in the morning and go to bed at 10 in the evening, though that is most certainly not going to happen in the near future.
