FFXI probably doesn't have game cards due to it's lack of need?
With FFXI, you are paying a monthly fee for a character and 1 dollar more for each extra character. With WoW, you are paying a monthly fee for an account of characters. 1 game is variant and 1 game is stable. Get the logic? Game cards for FFXI would only be conveinient for those who possess only 1 character. FFXI players tend to have multiple characters. 1 main, maybe an alternate, and a stroage character. Since world jumping/hopping isn't as easy and simple as in WoW, they may even have an additional character for another server. Remember, FFXI charges 1 dollar more for each additional character you create. Also, Square-Enix Inc, producer of FFXI, probably didn't think about a game card methodology. The whole game card things seems newly introduced by Blizzard, at least thats what I think. I can't think of another game that used game cards to pay for monthly fees. And Game cards are designed to help those who do not possess credit cards to electronically pay for monthly fees. FFXI requires you to have a credit card in order to even MAKE your character. You aren't going to ever play FFXI if you cannot set up your account with a credit card. Thus, no game cards for FFXI. (I probably should of said this from the start, huh.) Jam it back in, in the dark. |
