Is it a new computer or is it an old one? If it is an old one, chances are high that the computer fan might be malfunctioning or not working at all, making the computer overheat. You might wanna open it up to check if your computer is full of dust, making it overheat more easily, as that may be one of the reasons it is shutting down. I've had the same problem in the past and in my case it was the fan not functioning as it should have, so I'd not be surprised if your problem turns out to be the same.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
