New PC in the works. Thoughts, sudgestions?
So yeah. For xmas Im getting a new PC. Here's what I have planned already.
Take a look at it and tell me if its good or not for the price. And what I should change. Looking for a decent gaming PC that'll last a year or two with minimal upgrades. How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
I sorta am building it myself.. Sorta. I know a guy who knows the owners of that store so I can pretty much get a deal off everything. This is just the PC builder tool off their site.
PCInfo Computers If you guys can go through it and make something similar and more cost efficient, please be my guest. I don't want to do wrong with this one. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
Games, web stuff. I don't need top of the line, top of the line. Mainly, any decent card thats better then my crap Geforce quadro980 and I'll be happy. Something that can do pixel shader 2.1 or w/e. Games like hellgate, maybe not crysis but you get the picture. I'm okay with being a gen or two behind too.
Additional Spam: Messing around with the options given to me, I've come to two more different types. Mostly just the CPU being switched. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]()

If its outdated and over priced... grr.. Would it be better to just buy the things piece by piece at TigerDirect (Canada's version of NewEgg)
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() |
I dont know why, but I guess im just really used to having two drives. One smaller one for the OS and programs, and another bigger one for all the music/games/ etc..etc..etc.. Made things much easier when it came time to format C and clean up windows.. didn't have to waste time backing everything up. I s'pose I can always partition the 500.. Is there a difference?
ps. im trying to work with this site, and Im picking the same things you did, and its giving me something more expensive... Do I just select the parts individually? Do I get an option later to get it built there, instead of do-it-yourself? I was speaking idiomatically. ![]()

One more question.. I got the same thing you got the screenshot of. Now, say I buy it like that. Does the thing come in pieces? Already built? What about heatsinks/fans/ all the other stuff. I just want to make sure Im getting everything I need, and not find out later that im missing something
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? ![]() |
