Hahaha, it really depends what they teach in the mechanics course. You can actually do some fairly complex stuff without having any differential equation beyond simple ones where you can just separate the variables. My classical mechanics course this term is pretty much this. The second one, however, is after both "Ordinary Differential Equations" and "Partial Differential Equations", so I suppose that course will make heavy use of differential equations.

Oh, and while I don't regret taking it, I'd like to take this opportunity to say that I hate differential equations. Especially series solutions, like the Frobenius method. Which is precisely what I should be doing right now.
