I really think Cam Ward should have started for us, but it likely wouldn't have changed things. After the early goal, the Canes just went to sleep it seems. Not to mention that Eric Staal has been absolutely SILENCED over the past few games, and his play just looks bad lately as a result. He had a few points against the Bruins, but in games like this where he should be working hard and creating chances, he really hasn't done much. If we're going to win, we'll need him to be a lot better than he has been. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
So John Leclair was waived today. I have a feeling I know a few Pens fans that will be quite happy about this.
Now the question is will any team be willing to take a chance on him? If claimed in re-entry waivers, he'll cost about $900k. He's past his prime, but that's not a bad price for a veteran if a team is hurting for help. Or the Flyers could claim him just for added hilarity. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() |
So the whole vote for rory thing is paying off:
Scott Niedermayer ; Anaheim 329,657 Nicklas Lidstrom ; Detroit 317,373 Chris Pronger Anaheim 219,372 Dion Phaneuf ; Calgary 208,945 *Rory Fitzpatrick ; Vancouver 144,819 Sergei Zubov ; Dallas 110,562 Mattias Ohlund ; Vancouver 110,146 Scott Hannan ; San Jose 108,757 Mathieu Schneider ; Detroit 88,449 Rob Blake ; Los Angeles 83,814 Robyn Regehr ; Calgary 77,205 John-Michael Liles ; Colorado 71,360 Lubomir Visnovsky ; Los Angeles 57,928 He could actually MAKE it at this rate. Everyone here better do you part and go vote for him. Tonight's matchup between the Canes and Nucks should be an interesting one. The battle of two teams really trying to find themselves offensively. I just hope the CANES manage to find it quicker than the nucks. At least for tonight anyway. Most amazing jew boots ![]() |
Well another downturn in the story regarding the fate of the Penguins' future in Pittsburgh.
TSN is reporting that Jim Balsillie has withdrawn his offer to buy the Pens due to unreasonable conditions put forth by the NHL. The Isle of Capri vote is coming up next week on the 20th. Here's hoping they get their license. I don't want to see the Pens playing ANYWHERE but Pittsburgh. Story: http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=188556&hubname= How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
Linden probably wouldn't be my first choice for the first powerplay unit, but the Sedins can make anyone look good. I mean hell, JAN BULIS is playing with them even strength and he's managed to find the scoresheet lately. Most amazing jew boots ![]() |
It's not for certain yet. It seems that Lemieux will still discuss keeping the team in Pittsburgh once their agreement with Isle of Capri expries in a few weeks. However, it does seem like the chances of them staying are starting to get quite low.
This sucks. They have one of the most exciting teams in the entire league right now, and they might end up moving. What a waste. Most amazing jew boots ![]() |
