I think I was around 12 or 13 when I first drove a car. My mother is a fucking crazy lunatic and let me drive her van at the time in an empty parking lot in Westboro. It was an automatic, and I remember being amazed at how EASY it was to drive.
On the weekends when I would visit her, she'd usually let me go driving around those lots as an activity. I learned how to drive really early on and got accustomed to being at the helm way before my years. I didn't get my actual license until I was 18. And Pang was there when I did get it. (Which is something that amazes me even today.)
I never took driver's ed. It doesn't seem to help anyone in our area, except in the insurance way.
