Two jury duties? I thought you only had to do one?

Have you ever BEEN to Jury Duty?

Let me tell you, it's not a "day off from work." Its about 6 hours of sitting and waiting, literally being locked into a room with a huge amount of other people. Usually with something annoying on the TV. You can't leave the room - not even to smoke. (You all can IMAGINE how well I did with that). You have a bathroom facility in the giant waiting room, but its seriously not fun.

And the trials aren't like they are in the movies. They're a lot slower, a lot dumber, and they lack the drama.

I've been on duty only once. I was excused for my beliefs on animal rights.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Well, I guess if your job is really that tedious, I suppose it WOULD be a nice break to read a book and sit on a jury while you're on the clock.

I know that personally, I'd rather be at work doing something productive and keeping the paperwork off my desk than sitting in a giant waiting room with a bunch of idiots for hours on end.

If you dislike your job that much though, maybe you should consider a career change? I mean, jury duty is fucking TORTURE for me. Maybe its a difference in personality, but if a day comes when I look forward to serving jury duty to get out of work, I would switch jobs right quick.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
