I honest-to-goodness try at my work. There aren't many employees, and I bet you people can guess who wastes the most in the office. I am constantly turning off faucets that are left dripping in both the bathroom and in the kitchen area. Perpetually turning off lights that are left blazing in empty rooms for no good reason. I try to re-use backsides of paper (chopped in quarters) for notes instead of using too many post-its or throwing out paper and things like that. We don't have a paper recycling program in town, so it's up to us to do it. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Like recycling. You'd think it would be an easy process. Paper in paper bin, cans in can bin, something to that degree, right? NO. THERE'S RED TAPE on RECYCLING. Not to mention I've heard of some offices having ridiculously high fees for these sorts of things. (Like the shit being picked up, sorting fees, yadda yadda) This is why I just chop up paper and use the backside for notes. Good business sense? You'd would think so. But we live in the United States of America. Everything becomes fair game for the all mighty buck: even good sensibility. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
