Yea, my dad is more like Guru's family.
He will throw just about anything out that doesn't belong to him. I can't tell you how much of my own, personal shit he's thrown out since I was a kid. But when it comes to wood, bricks, tools or wire - he saves ALL that shit - and yes, he actually finds occasions to use every. single. bit of it. (You think you know MacGyver, pffth.) I have to admit, though: I am kind of a person who likes to save stupid shit for sentimental reasons. I have STICKS in my room because "aw I burned a marshmellow on that stick with XYZ!"
