Ahaha, Alice. Awesome story ^_^
I go almost every summer, when and where I can. There are very few these days up here in my area - maybe one drive in per 100 square miles. They're usually run down and crappy, but it doesn't stop people from going.
The most recent time I went, I saw Pirates 2 near Sebago Lake in Maine with Chris. It looked like all the Mainers crawled out of the woodwork for the 9pm showing - they had hibachis and footballs, and yes - even the classic "girl and boy making out in the front seat" kind of moments.
People were really inconsiderate though. I think it was a BYOB kind of dealie. Some of the audience would turn on their headlights, which would shine on the screen in the middle of the movie. The sound quality was alright, considering it was broadcasted on a local FM kind of thing.
I love the drive-in, though. It's classic entertainment.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
