I can tell you that it does in fact work. For a short period of time. Your skin builds up a tolerance for it after a month or so and you go right back to having acne.
I don't speak from personal experience, though. My best friend Sarah had a wicked acne problem and she's used Proactiv. She's the one who told me her skin built up tolerance. Also, my semi-step-sister used it and complained of the same thing. Since, both have been on tricyclen birth control pills and that seems to have fixed everything up for both of them.
