Well, that was a "feel good" episode. I dunno, usually I would have hated that kind of episode, but I think the show kind of needed a jolt of hope.

And I think the producers might be trying to tell us something ha ha.

Okay, I'll admit. I almost shed a tear when Hurley popped the clutch and got the VW going. And then The Halls of Shambala came on. CRY.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Yeah, but next week's episode preview looks HELLA good.

Spoiler:
Eyepatch man, the new Dharma hatch they had been hinting at, new video from Dharma, answers as to who Michael was talking to, and Locke spurring some kind of event?

Holy shit, that looks like the best episode of the season right now!
Is it me, or did it appear that Locke will end up pushing another goddamned button. This guy has a fever for computers on the island, man.

Also, it looks like they actually DO find Jack? From what I can tell? Here I was, worried that Kate would lead them back to the other island, and Jack would be lost forever.

How many of us KNEW that Danielle would be in the woods when Kate went looking for her tonight? I mean jesus, I saw that one a mile away.

I thought it was a little bit of a cheat to copy Hurley's lottery backstory and re-use it, but it's been a while since Lost has made me smile.
I guess people could argue that the backstory of the lottery dragged Daddy Cheech back to Hurley. While he was kind of a horrible guy, he taught Hurley about having hope.

Have hope. I have hope the series will get better.

But I liked the idea that Charlie and Hurley face the little demons that were making them mope about and get them all PARANOID. They both face death in the VW (albeit in a VERY lame manner), but survive it. So maybe they're not exactly cursed after all.

I thought it was pretty cool that the others dont have anything to do with Darma. Makes things a little more interesting now.
Wait. How did you come to that conclusion?

The Russian guy lied to Sayid and Kate about that. He actually is a member of Dharma.

Unless *I* misunderstood?

About tonight's episode:

TOTALLY called all the shit that happened in the flashback. I LOVE the nod from Claire to Jack's Dad "So it's true?" as though the writers/producers are implying the the rumors among fans was right about Claire and Jack being related.

Also - holy hell, I loved the bit when Locke just throws the Russian across the perimeter and we see blood spurt out of his fucking ears. Awesome awesome. That made the episode for me.

Looks like Kate and Co. won't hesitate to go into the living quarters next week. Excited.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Well. I think that was definitely the episode of the SEASON. (Edit follows)

Locke's DAD is on the island. WAIT until Sawyer finds out ahahahhaha this is a MINT episode. It leaves me aching for more - something I've missed for a long, long time.

This episode really made my night. I love the stunt Ben pulled on Locke and Sawyer with the submarine. I couldn't stop laughing when Locke apologizes to Jack and BOOM goodbye submarine~

Wow. Floored.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I really can't get myself to give a shit that Paolo and Nikki were buried alive. Yea, that sucks for them, but seriously. Those two needed to go as characters.

Not to mention they both just WASTED an entire episode of backstory. They contributed absolutely NOTHING to the show. Wasted my time, if you ask me.

I like how the producers (or whomever) tried to write them into the backstory though. Here are Nikki and Paolo at the plane crash! Here they are throughout the story, interlaced a little bit! WITH ANOTHER DEAD CAST MEMBER! O hey, how about that?

I'm feeling REALLY burned about this episode.

And I have a feeling next week, I will be burned as well. Looks like a Jack/Kate thing going on, fuelled by Juliette judging from the preview. I want more plot movement. Desperately.

How ya doing, buddy?

Sass, I want so badly to like this show again. Truth be told I didn't watch last week's episode, and am not sure about watching tonight. ;_;
I'm sorry I said anything in this case. ;_;

It seems like filler to me when theres so much they could actually be doing with the audience. They're going to lose us all at this rate. I hear ratings are dropping lower and lower. LeHah was right, LeHah was right. It's going to hell.

Though after last week's episode, I have hope. Locke's episode was fan-fucking-tastic, and I found myself LOVING the same old Lost I am used to. And the Juliette flashbacks are ALSO great. Intense, twisting, et cetera.

But the same old "oooo, look. A connection" isn't cutting it for me anymore. Hell, I wasn't even surprised when Jack's father was Claire's father. Hows THAT for depressing.

I was amused to see Paolo and Nikki go too - believe me, I wanted them gone. BIG mistake introducing them. Way to lose some of MY respect guys. *SIGH*

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Tonight's episode was alright. I like how we got some answers, but nothing overall that spectacular. I think the majority of Lost fans knew what was coming with Juliet (being a mole). The question is: will she follow Ben's orders?

And yea, I think Rousseau gave birth to Alex on the island.

Ben has been on the island "all his life," so that's kind of ambiguous.

I vaguely recall Ben saying that he was born on the island. I think it was in conversation with either Jack or Locke, but I'm not sure.
I could be wrong. Sadly, I have no talent in memorizing dialogue after seeing it once. I am not saying that sarcastically, as I know people who memorize this shit, first time.

I just wonder how Alex...oooo....maybe THATS why they took Alex? From Danielle, I mean. Alex was born on the island and didn't die~

Also, maybe thats why they initially took Jack, Kate and Sawyer? They knew that there was some baby-making potential there? Jack is an added bonus to save Ben.

What if Kate is knocked up. O BOY.

Okay. My computer is broken for the time being, so I had to wait until this morning to bitch and scream about Locke being shot. The entire first half of the episode, we were cheering on Locke, on and on about how AWESOME he is. How he one-upped Ben with Mikhail and all.

And then we get to the little house in the woods. OF COURSE it had to be at night so we couldn't SEE anything. But I didn't think for a second that Ben was that crazy. I mean, Locke should have known better too!

I like the obvious parallels between Ben and Locke right now. How Ben killed his own father (who treated him like shit) and demanded the same of Locke. Why would Ben do that? I mean, insist that Locke kill his own father to be more like Ben (or so I assume).

And like some of you, the FIRST thing that sprang to mind with Richard (one of the "natives" apparently) was that he did not age AT ALL. So what does that say. Hm.

Also, the name Horace has plenty of loaded implications, from Rome to Egypt. Hm.

But if they axe Locke, I may not watch anymore. Locke and Sawyer are my heroes - kill off Jack and Charlie, fine. BUT DO NOT take Locke and Sawyer. ;_; (I am pretty sure Jacob will save him though)

Did anyone else notice the Henry Gale and The Man Behind the Curtain references? Wizard of Oz, Henry Gale.....yea.

And in my anger, I read some spoilers. If you DO NOT want to know whats going to happen in the season finale, DO NOT read this:

Spoiler:
Looks like Locke will be fine. Reports are saying that there will be a showdown between Locke and Jack. Also, that the beach will divide into 2 camps: one led by Sawyer, one lead by Jack. There are conflicting reports - some say Locke will lead the camp instead of Sawyer, but either way, looks like Locke will in fact be saved - somehow. It doesn't say how.

O, here. A confirmation from Cuse:
Quote:
Exec producer Carlton Cuse offers this exclusive tease about the show's two-hour, sure-to-be-blockbuster season finale on May 22: "Let's just say the end of the season features a showdown between Jack and Locke — a showdown long anticipated and a showdown with an extremely significant outcome for the future of the castaways." Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide

Also, I am hearing that the remaining 3 seasons will only have 16 episodes each (instead of the present and past 23 episodes)
Quote:
Starting with the 2007-08 season, ABC will begin airing the 48 remaining original episodes of the hit drama "Lost," it was announced today by Stephen McPherson, president, ABC Entertainment. The episodes will air uninterrupted over three seasons (16 episodes each season), with the series concluding in 2009-10 with a highly anticipated and shocking finale. Source: ABC

Spoiler:

As for Jacob, I'm not sure what to make of him. But I'd have to agree about the ring of ash around his house/bunker, it seems to be a barrier stopping him from wandering the island. I think that he will save Locke though.
And why did he say "Help Me" to Locke, are the natives holding Jacob against his will? I guess that might explain the ash ring.
Spoiler:
This would explain why Ben seemed so goddamned pissed when he shot Locke. What was up with that? Immediately, I was feeling a sense of jealousy from Ben - like Ben was upset that Jacob spoke to Locke, or that Locke could hear him.

Hm. I wonder.

There are people in that underwater hatch... WHAT A FUCKING SURPRISE. Fucking idiots.
I am fucking CONVINCED it's a colony of escaped women.

They don't want to get involved with that crazy shit going down in the city. Maybe they were women who allegedly "died" during childbirth or whatever.

Or maybe they're whats left of Dharma? Oooo, excited to know, but I realize I'll likely NEVER find out.

I think Charlie will live. But no one but the Underground Chick Brigade will know about it.

Wow. The end of that finale crushed me.

I am trying to deny the fact that they get rescued. I keep hoping for a Butterfly Effect kind of situation.

Whose funeral did Jack attend? Whose funeral were Jack and Kate talking about attending? Did anyone else totally see Kate getting out of the car coming?

I believe Ben when he says they shouldn't have called.

The guy on the other end of the phone thingie was all too eager to come and get them. Bunch of bullshit.

I forsee a major show-down before they all get rescued - if they get rescued at all.

Hurly got a standing ovation at the house here. Everyone (including the French guests who also watch Lost religiously) applauded and shouted when Hurly saved the beach camp. And Sayid with that leg move! WOO!

I am with Tritoch, though. I don't want anyone to leave the island. What are they going to return to? =/

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Spoiler:
Jack had just finished doping himself up on even more oxycodone, so he was probably just out of his mind at the time. The line was probably just thrown in to keep anyone from figuring out the truth too early.
At the same time, Christian Shepard (Jack's dad) wrote an oxycodone prescription for him - which I believe requires you to, you know, be an actual doctor. I could be wrong, though. ^_^'

Also: I was under the impression that spoilers aren't needed in the thread?

I had a few gripes with this episode, like the BIG ANSWER TO DOES JACK LOVE KATE was revealed in the most anti-climactic way possible. He's just like "hey love u k bye lol." COME THE FUCK ON!!! WHERE ARE THE EMOTIONS?!?!?!?!
Not to disagree or anything, but I am kind of glad it was without emotion. I think the emotions were just far too strained all along, and that "I love you" from Jack was essentially him letting go of Kate.

Notice she didn't tell him she loved him back. (I really hate Jack, so I am a little biased here ;_; )

Quote:
The other being another magical John Locke escape. First it was the hatch, and now it's the 10-foot fucking grave, complete with fucked legs and a gun shot wound to the gut. I want some answers.
Man, you have absolutely no faith in the smoke monster, do you?

We know it will take forms, and we know it can kill. Why wouldn't it have helped John out of the ditch (in the body of Walt, who OBVIOUSLY wasn't actually present!)

Now that you mention it, that seems really contradictory to the direction they've taken Jack lately. He's been built up as some crazy, angry stalker by every one of his flashbacks this season, yet he just let's Kate go like that? Seems like he should be harboring a lot more of a grudge still.
Why would you think that? (That wasn't meant to sound as rude as it does in text ;_; ) After all he did in Ben's surgery to help Kate and Sawyer escape?

I think he was a really big man for that, no matter how much I dislike him. I was worried that he may take a turn for the worse there, but he didn't. I think Jack is much more afflicted with saving people - maybe Kate has been saved in a way?

I was speaking idiomatically.

True, his actions on the island support that. It just leads me to question even more why they've shown us all this stuff with Jack hounding his ex-wife, turning to alcohol and painkillers (past and future), stalking and having wild flings with random asian tattoo girls, and generally being an unlikable bastard to everyone but his patients. Usually the flashbacks have some link to the episode, but Jack's never seemed to in the third season.
I totally agree with that, yes. I think it's why I've come to dislike him. The whole Thailand episode (I think it was Thailand? Correct me if I am wrong =D ) just explained away a tattoo that could have been explained in a few sentences when the Other Psych asked him about it, I guess.

But they certainly have taken him in an entirely different journey. Maybe they've set us up to not trust his position as a "leader" so much? I know it worked for me. I wouldn't want that guy directing me. ^_^
