I don't believe it for a second. At least, not in that context. I think that symmetry is so subtle, we don't even notice it.

And really - who is the judge of beauty? You really think that symmetry holds some truth in the definition of beauty?

I think it STILL boils down to preference. Maybe some people prefer symmetry. Some others don't. I don't think it really PROVES anything though, you know?

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Did you even read the article? We're talking numerous studies - even studies involving infants - and the results are all the same.
I read a study once. It said that God really did exist!

I also read a study that stated listening to Mozart as a child will definitely raise your IQ!

If you believe in this crap Alice, I want you to also believe in tarot cards, the ouiji board, and the Loch Ness monster.

PS - no such things as perfect symmetry.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

I absolutely believe this is true. It would explain a lot, actually.
America is America. I chose to not believe it. I mean, maybe its me, but I don't really LIKE beauty? Kinda gives me a HEADACHE?

And, I mean, do you really think Denzel is hot? Because I REALLY DONT.

Also, I do believe that you can raise a child's IQ by having him listen to classical music. Children who listen to classical music and/or play musical instruments have accelerated development in the math and science parts of their brains.
I read a study once.

It was about plants being in a dark room with very sensitive electrodes hooked up to them.

Someone walked in, hacked one of the plants to pieces, and looked at the eletrical response from the plants.

The plants literally flipped the fuck out when the scientist hacked the one plant "to death."

Therefore, I believe PLANTS HAVE EMOTIONS.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Do you think you feel that way because his face is symmetrical, or just because.

This dudes face is perfectly symmetrical. IS HE HOT?

How ya doing, buddy?

I think the implication is that people who are naturally more symmetrical - as opposed to a computer-generated photo of a geek with bad skin - are usually more fit, athletic and generally are better-looking.
O! I see! So only the beautiful people who have symmetrical faces naturally are actually beautiful! (Except theres NO SUCH THING, Alice.)

Fuck those geeks and their zits man. That shit isn't even REAL.

Thats perfect symmetry, Alice. Why don't you want to bang him? ;_;

Thats right. There is no naturally perfect. Doesn't exist.

I get what she's saying, and though I obviously haven't noticed it myself, I can see how it would make sense.
I'm just saying that its the combination of flaws and symmetry that makes a person attractive. Not one or the other.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Depends on who you are.

I prefer the one with the crack, since it's more personable.

Symetry is a very important concept in aesthetics. It's not the only thing that makes something beautiful. A symetrical turd is still a turd, but it is one of the many characteristics that make up total overall beauty.
Again, it depends. Nothing is "symmetrical," in the true sense of the word. Nothing NATURAL, anyways. Its UNIQUE to be symmetrical, and maybe THATS why we admire it. Just like we admire anything rare.

But I wouldn't say its what we all WANT.

Why do people always aim to break the laws of nature. Its horrible. ;_;

I actually think beauty is too complex a concept for just one word. Nature, a work of art and a woman are all beautiful but in different ways.
AGREE.
