Don't want to brag, just pump up the excitement, but I work there and I saw what they're doing and let me tell you, it's gonna have the same impact that SANDS OF TIMES had for Adventure games when it first came out. This game looks too good to be true.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Wow. Okay, didn't know it was exclusive until now. My contract ended last February and I'm in for another 3 months at Ubi until school starts. It was suppose to be XBOX 360-bound last year. Weird.
And don't worry, the story, since I last saw bits of it is pretty cool, and quite, say, 'psychedelic'. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Sorry, NDA's keeping my mouth shut. You wouldn't know how easy it is for them to retrace me.
I was on WARRIOR WITHIN's test team and one of the guys there talked on GameFaqs about the various levels of the game. Next week, he was fired. Even if it's for another 3 months of work, I want to keep my job since Art School's coming soon. I'm just happy about the fact that I won't be on the project so when it's released, I will know as little as possible and I'll fully enjoy it. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

One thing I can say though, which is more of an anecdote is that while working last year, most of the desks around my team was moved elsewhere and the animation team from Project Assassin came right beside us to 'practice' some sword moves.
It was fun watching them goof around with a couple of sticks and a camera. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
How ya doing, buddy? |
I prefer Hand Animation but sometimes, like in the MGS series, it's best to use Motion-Cap since animating a scene of dialogue with two characters standing next to each may seem a bit stiff.

Can't say squat, but all I can say is that I saw test footage for the AI, fight sequences and another unannounced aspect of the game.
As for the story, I know what's been announced plus a certain surprise that hasn't been revealed yet, but watch the very first trailer for the game, back when it was called PROJECT ASSASSIN, there's a hint in there. ;-) What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Don't know if they will show it playable, but they'll surely announce it fully. Don't know the details myself since I only come back to the studio in June.
From what I saw back in January, the faces of the characters are EXTREMELY well-detailed; imagine the link between GEARS OF WAR and MGS4. Most amazing jew boots |
Yeah, Stuart Chatwood did the music for the all the POP games and the soundtrack for Warrior Within is still one of the my favorites. The game though is another completely different topic. Argh.
Anyhoo, I stumbled upon some Assassin cue music from various WELL-KNOWN composers in the industry and the vibe they're trying to get is really cool. Each composers did come cues as to what they could contribute to the game and one of them will get picked for the entire project. It's not Rock or Techno music, don't worry. ;-) By the way, I'm a tester for now, so my input is as important as the guy cleaning the toilets. O_o But after my two years of Art and my year in 3D modeling, that'll be a different story. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Yeah, Ubisoft is pretty much all around the world, but in Canada, there are two studios; one who just opened in Quebec and the most important for the company is in Montreal, the studio responsible for Assassin, the Prince of Persia series, the Splinter Cell series and recently, the Far Cry series. I work there and plan on returning working in Production after school. The work environment is pretty kick-ass. Plus, the Art Recrutor saw what I could do at the moment and said that 'artistically', I'd be accepted as 3D artist. So I just keep imagining that after school I'll have much more knowledge and I'm guaranteed a place since I know a couple of people and friends who could hook me up in Prod.
It's cool to have it's name at the end of a game but having it in the DEVELOPMENT section would be a dream. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

But it takes time, for myself, I'll be happy to be part of a team of Production but I'm not aiming at being THE main guy. It certainly would be a dream, but I know it can be done. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I was speaking idiomatically. |
LOL!!
The last time I saw the environements in the first pic, it was all wire-framed with really bad low-res textures. That's quite a change! What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
But after seeing those screens, they've come a long way and I'm pretty stoked by it. It looks awesome! And yeah, me too. I don't buy it for a second that it'll be exclusive for the PS3. Mainly since Next-Gen developping costs a lot and, based on the past history of Ubisoft, they LOVE to milk there games and series. FELIPE NO |
No, I'm now but a mere tester, but some of my friends working in Production showed me some stuff.
And I can't tell you the release date. Sorry. Maybe they'll announce it next week though. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
That's the little twist I was talking about. All I know, with this, as already been mentioned, as for the rest, I'm as in the dark as all of you and don't plan on seeing more of it since I wanna be as surprised as all of you when the game hits stores in.....oops. Nearly gave it away. ;-P
