I believe that's what they did with Melee too, releasing info for one character at a time. After the game was released, then they started showing the unlockables. At least this is what I thought, because when I first saw the site, it was months after the initial release, and everything has been unlocked already.

Metal Sphere, just so you know, Control Stick means the left analogue stick. I'm guessing that means you can't use most A attacks while holding this weapon.

Yeah, it's by far the most interesting on the site yet. It was never clear whether the Gamecube controller would be required to play, now we have the answer.
Actually, I'm very curious as to how they're going to make the game work with the Wiimote without the nunchuck attachment, since there seems to be a few more button commands than buttons required. I see it turning out to have lots of motion-based commands for things like jumping and smash attacks, since it wouldn't have analogue control. Doesn't seem to be a good control style, but it's good that they included it anyway, for people (me) who can't get their hands on extra nunchucks. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I was speaking idiomatically. |
This is probably the biggest update by far up until this moment. I don't know how it will turn out though. This could turn out to be either a pretty nifty trick to one of the most abused moves in the whole game, since every character should be able to use it (omg, Pikachu finally gets a meteor smash). Still, I'm happy that they're adding someting new to the mechanics. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I do hope that stage is indeed better in motion. When I first saw it, it just felt like a few platforms floating around a static background with the parasite queen just so it can be called a Metroid stage. Although, I was never much of a fan of any of the Metroid stages in the past, so I'm not really expecting too much from this one either.

Well, I guess it's a new "element" to the game, and maybe he thought that was enough to warrant an update. Also, I think Chaotic is right when he said that it's kinda like catching Pokemon, so the trophies won't just drop randomly after you defeat an enemy, but the trophy stand itself will randomly appear, so you can use it to catch the enemies. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
The first thing I thought of when I saw those screens was "Meteos".
![]() Anyway, nice to see the new versions of the multi team, and the inclusion of a co-op version. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
