I have read these threads in the past, and have declined to participate for several reasons.

1. I don't want to look through over five years of history to make sure I'm not nominating something that's been nominated previously, because this will probably happen. A lot.

2. Similar to Point the First, I don't have the same time I used to be able to keep up with current releases, which means anything I would've nominated would be old as shit.

3. This is a dumb reason, but I like music a lot. Obviously you all do as well. However, whereas many of you at least appear knowledgeable with respect to some amount of musical theory and can discuss it within the context of your nominations, I suspect I would be completely unable to do so. It's shitty to know that your only contribution to discussion would be "this is pretty cool because I like it because I don't know why"

There's an "outsider's" perspective.

I think part of it too is that (and this is through nothing you guys did) it just seemed like a pretty small club, and it's hard to break into that kind of scene, you know?

I'll give it an effort going forward.
