Younger generations are ruining television far more than women are. Networks and television shows try to appeal to a "younger" audience. What they really mean when they say that is a "dumber" audience. Very few shows presume that the viewer has even the cognitive capacity to turn on the TV to begin with, let alone comprehend complex story arcs and subtle character development.
