Aahaha are you serious? It's an all-star game. The score was 12-9 for Christ's sake. Briere was a point away from tying the all-star game points record, and it was the first time he'd ever appeared in one. He totally deserved it.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

What bothers me more is Colorado's lackadaisical performance for most of the season. Budaj + Theodore in net is extremely inconsistent, and Milan Hedjuk and Wojtek Wolski have been subpar.
Colorado is finally experiencing, for the first time, what it means to begin to turn into a rebuilding franchise, and it warms the very cockles of my heart. Colorado fans have been spoiled for too long. I'm glad they're finally having to watch their team lose some games.

How ya doing, buddy?

How many Avalanche fans do you seriously think were Nords fans before the move? The vast majority of Colorado fans think the NHL was invented in 1995.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Neil's never had a reputation as a dirty hitter. He throws hits and drops the gloves, but he's no Lemieux.

Hitting another team's star player has been the only way to get the team's attention since the stupid instigator rule went in. It's what everyone does.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

If you can name me a star player who wasn't crushed at least once, go for it. Otherwise, yeah. Star players are still hockey players, and they get hit just like everyone else does. Of course a team is gonna try to nail one to take them off their game. That's hockey.

I heard OLN is broadcasting poker afterwards if that's more your style.

Also, maybe you missed the part, oh, five minutes after, where your coach put on a bunch of tough guys trying to pick fights with like Spezza.

That's right. Everyone.

So I heard BZ is the most objective, impartial hockey fan there is. That's pretty cool.

It wasn't a cheap shot at all. Drury was admiring his pass. You learn to keep your head up and know where other players are on the ice when you're ten years old. It wasn't illegal, it wasn't late as defined by the NHL rulebook, and getting mad about it when your team tried to pick fights with soft danglers like Spezza just makes you look like a joke.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I don't really know what they're talking about it being a clean hit. It was pretty visibly from behind, but that was still a stupid thing to do. You don't hit a guy in the face with your stick.

The only way I would support the Islanders on a cup run is if they brought back those sweet ass fisherman jerseys. Things were bitchin'.

As shitty as the Nords' crest was, the rest of the jersey looked really awesome.

Dude, Garth Snow was fuckin' tough as nails. I doubt there was a goalie playing in the league at the time who could've taken him.

I mean, sure, he sucked as a goalie, and so far he's a pretty bad GM, but he could throw punches! He was the one bright spot during some of the seasons where we just kept losing. Even if we were down 6-0 his antics still made the games fun to watch. =D

Man, what a start to the playoffs. While watching the Canucks game I kept thinking about how many times we would've lost by the end if we still had garbage Cloutier in net.

It's too bad the game ended when it did; Luongo was 2 saves away from setting a new single game save record. =( Oh well, the win is still all that matters in the end, I guess.

Man, Eaves just got crushed with a huge shoulder to the head by Armstrong; it looked like he was unconscious before he hit the ice. Hopefully he won't have bad post-concussion syndrome and will be able to return soon.

Hit was clean all the way, just too bad a guy got hurt like that.

I wouldn't call Alfredsson, Spezza, and Heatley all Ottawa has. Beyond those three they have like six or seven guys who are 20 goal scorers. That's not really too much of a lack in secondary scoring.

Yeah, there's no question the puck crossed the line, but they really shouldn't have allowed it. People always talk about how penalties aren't reviewable, and honestly when it's on a goal like that, they really ought to be. The puck was caught up in Hasek's pads and he was shoved into the net, and it came free and sort of sat there on his leg as he slid into the goal.

Hey, classy job, Anaheim fans! Throw more shit on the ice 'cause you're butt hurt you're getting raped 5-0!

Hearing that arena chant "Red Wings suck" when they're beating the Ducks 3-0 at that point is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in professional hockey.

I wonder what they'll do to show their anger over Pronger's pending suspension?

Oops, no double-post hack eh?

I wonder which teams they're going to juggle around to rebalance the conferences? Maybe Detroit will finally get kicked over to the east where they belong.
