Even though I was expecting serious composers like Taku Iwasaki, Kou Otani, Yoko Kanno or Michiru Ooshima, The person who worked on Ouran HS anime did a real good job on it. Thanks for upload too, p. Nippon release?

I stick with Live-Evil's work. Since I get Nana from them, I won't bother with anyone else's since their quality is just as great.

Episode 13 was released today. Glad to see that it's still going the way it is.

EDIT:

Any word on a good quality of the "The Last Name" yet?

EDIT 2 : The new opening theme song came out. Some dude ripped the track from the vid. Not bad

Im downloading the 13th episode by "Under9000". I'll let you know how the quality is.

EDIT : U9000's quality is so so. I checked the other fansub group called ANFS. Their quality is just as good or better than L-E's or TW's. Grab it now.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

@sacred X - you can find the first movie in this place. I think you have to register though but it's no big deal if you really want that movie.

subtitles are great too.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I think the writer gave up (I heard it from somewhere). She lost interest in continuing the plot.

Personally I was expecting the next arc that they might introduce the "Death Eraser" as shown in the one-shot before the serialisation starts. That would be soo cool to bring back the dead e.g. "L"

Just a quick question has [DG] dropped Death Note? coz they have been quite late in their release... <_<
To make it more weird, not one single character in the manga ever mentioned to try and erase the names.Maybe Light already knew since he wrote in pen anyway.I think DG dropped their project cause they're one of those groups that lets go of animes when licensed.

Bahamuty - Tsugumi Ohba wanted to end the manga with the Yotsuba arc (which includes L's death). That would've been cool but fans wanted to see Light get his as well (I did too ;p ) so she made it happen.

Well with this week's release of Episode 20, we are given the 2nd opening and ending theme. I kinda like the whole crazy look of it but the song could've been much better. You be the judge. Honestly, It doesn't bother me at all ;p. Mello,Takada,Near and Mikami are in it. The 2nd ending theme is way better but already shows

Spoiler:
L lying dead with his eyes opened. They should've done this after his death but oh well.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbRkmBcVWlc - 2nd Opening : Seeing a bunch of Raito Yagami Heads made me lmao. stupid but funny

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDtUZ0_MiWA - 2nd Ending.

How ya doing, buddy?

Chato, I think you'd better put the part I deleted in a spoiler to avoid

Spoiler:
ruining the already popular L's death for even more people. Most of the people who found out beforehand, like myself, did not intentionally wish to find it and wish we never knew.

Done. =).

Also the full version of both new OP and ED theme are out.

Dunno who's going to d/l it though >=p.

Downloading the new OP and ED themes, because I'm a bastard.

I liked the new stuff. The OP's song wasn't really something I expected at all, but the editing was very fucking awesome. I have high hopes for the Devil May Cry anime now, seeing as how Madhouse apparently went all the fucking way with Death Note.

The 'lolling' Lights in the OP were awesome. I originally thought the vid was a fake, made by somebody from 2chan. Then I realized that the animation was too good for some amateur to have made for a cheap laugh.

Any news on the domestic DVDs? This, like the manga, is one of the few series' I'm interested in collecting in it's entirety, although I haven't been keeping up with the weekly episodes at all
There's no release date for it yet. Viz plans to release the anime
as "Download to Own and Download to Rent formats" when the anime is done in japan. It's the first time anyone is pulling that kind of idea.

I too been slackin off on the manga. I need 8 and 9. Another good thing is How To Read Death Note will come to the US. Only natural that it happens.

Been watching Kuro-hana subs, and as much as they often FAIL HARD there's a blinking green bar that wipes itself across any media player I try to use.

Is there a remedy to this?
Download c-1 or animanda's version. Both groups are the most trustworthy and 2nd to TW and LiveEvil.

Sometimes I wish I never read the manga and much rather seen the anime first. Im not all hyped up about it like I used to be ;p. It's always a first time.

I second that agreement. The only thing I can do now is laugh more and enjoy all that fastpace scene. Not to mention the word "fucker" being used XD. And hey, I didn't see Matt anywhere in that OP!

So everyone, with episode 22 out. We're almost at the end of the Yotsuba case and of course the main turning point. Will anyone care to keep watching the 2nd part of this? I asked this because back then (When the chapters were new) people bitched about how this and that happened. Some find the 2nd arc boring while others just stopped at the Yotsuba arc 'til they all heard how the story ended.

I will keep a good watch on this anime cause you never know what the ending will be like (maybe the same shit or extend a few things and go deeper than what the manga showed in the final chapter so alot of fans can just rest in peace and not complain) . Sure, I was disappointed for what happened but that didn't stop me from reading it. Maybe it was cause I already figured that Light was going to get his when the other two main characters were added. Besides, it felt more action packed than the whole first arc (yotsuba arc included). At least that's how I feel and will keep on watching.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I'm also curious on how dramatic they will make the "turning point" in the anime version.
I always expected this one orchestrated theme song by a famous musician. Some animes have a way of letting that happen (like with kenshin leaving Kaoru or Moonlight Sonata in Speed Grapher). Don't think that I didn't have any songs playing while reading the manga ;p. Otherwise it'd be boring. The OST for the anime isn't so bad either but Im getting a little tired of the same theme song coming up after a crazy moment between Yagami and L.

@ hikarub

Spoiler:
I never really reacted all that big when Misa revealed herself to Higuchi. What I was more hyped up was when Higuchi was going crazy and driving all dramatically to get to the Sakura TV station to kill Matsuda when he wasn't even there. Then of course the infamous climax to who the book goes to next

Ah..thanks for that little religious reminder. I went making fun at it with a few friends for a while. So for the fangirls, congrats.

So now that we get 25 good episodes of the 1st arc. How can the 2nd season be only 11 or rather 10 episodes (episode 26 might be a filler)? Simple. Like Ohba didn't give two pieces of shit about the rest of the story, Madhouse won't either u.u.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I pretty much makes alot of sense though. I don't think it'd be hard cramming 3-4 chapters in one episode.

Spoiler:
From what I remember in the second arc, there was lots of action but almost every character (including Yagami) kept running there damn mouths about the same shit. That would also lead to a few flashbacks and meaningless mind thinking. It could be done. However, I can't say that the results will change anything for the fans that really hated the 2nd arc. Unless Madhouse/Ohba changed something in the story.

EDIT: For those who care to know :

Near - Noriko HIDAKA. She did a nice job as kikyo from Inuyasha. Im not all familiar with the others. (TAKE THAT PAKU ROMI FANS!)

Mello - Nozomu SASAKI . Anyone who is familiar with the voice of Tetsuo Shima and K9999 should've noticed it from the beginning ^^. I say it's a perfect fit.

With the start of the 2nd arc, the music changed up alot (with a few familiar and wise choice of tracks). Sounds so damn good that I might even enjoy this more than the manga version. Animation improved more.Looks to me that they're going all out. You can also see how much Sayu has matured O.o.

The english dub for Yagami is indeed atrocious but in the end, you can't always rely on the old voice actors. They get tired as well. I was thinking more of of the voice actor who played Heero Yuy to get the job done. Will be expecting alot of work from David Lucas ;p. Viz has been workin his ass off playing 10 billion characters in naruto.

I believe theories died out after the manga ended. I was thinking more of L standing for L's real name yet his first name was never revealed.

And as for what I said about the 2nd arc ended sooner than we thought, Madhouse doesn't give a shit after all. I think there's a lot of info missing there. 7 episodes left. Will there even be an episode where they show Mikami's past?

I was speaking idiomatically.

I saw episode 31 just now and I can reveal that:

Spoiler:
Yup, Mikami's in it.
Spoiler:
Didnt look too surprising. It's almost as if 5-6 chapters are being crammed into one episode. I did like Mikami's entrance but I can agree with Sacred X about Mikami's past showing for at least a half an episode while the other half will introduce Kiyomi Takada. I'm not even sure when the hell Matt is going to show up so things are getting kinda fucked up.

Not too impressed but it is the 2nd arc and I wanna see the downfall of a certain fool >=]

EDIT : What I knew was going to happen, did happen ;p. Not that bad at least.

Spoiler:
Just finished watching ep/32 which happens to show not only Mikami but also his past and thoughts about the world in less than 20 mins which is ok. Then we were given the introduction of Takada , who I don't really care much about. Anime-version-Yagami had already summarized everything between those two and now the scene switches to a certain person most of us wanted to see.

Matt with a GBSP >=p.

It looks like Viz Media's giving the C and D to kuro-hana to dropped the project.

Spoiler:

I can really care less. As long as we got to see the first arc. The second one was more than just terrible than the original manga's counterpart O.o. As always, we'll still have some weird person to sub the last two episodes. So viz can go lick two nuts cause they aren't going to stop them >=p.

I tried to think, "it's just a trailer, the voices in the show should be better." But I bet those lines are taken from in-show. That, "I'm Justice" line sealed my decision for Light's voice and I DON'T LIKE IT. There's no passion or malice in the English VA's tone. Just like RockgamerXIII says, totally generic. I can just imagine the scene where Light screams crazily at the tv in the end of episode 2. It'll be flat and NON-intense.
I thought legit Death Note DVD's were worth getting but not after hearing English Light's voice.
I was agreeing on this for a while now. However, it IS only a trailer and I haven't seen a new clip about it for a while. Maybe Viz was only testing what the fans would think of this voice actor's job (probably a rookie). I could've been wrong when I said that most old voice actors get tired of their work. I think the higher ups are to blame for making mistakes like that. In the end, its the name and story that sells =/.

One things for sure though, I'm not buying the US DVDs because :

1. Possibility of Flat,Non-Intence generic voice acting(from newbies maybe) like RG and Jouhou pointed out.
2. Madhouses' poor motivation in the 2nd arc. (Are they really to blame? )
3. After watching 2 failure episodes (34 and 35) . This shows that no one really gave a shit about the second arc. Not enough Light Yagami dialogue, Misa's annoying personality and Less Appearances of Matt and Mello. This is where the dub comes in. Will they show/share the same feeling? Or get better at it at the last minute ;p.

All of that can change unless I get a list of who's voice acting who in it. Nothing else really matters.

This pretty much means episode 37 will cram the last few chapters with loads of dialogue for the first 11 mins along with the turning point. Yagami's seiyuu did a great job acting crazy in the scene where he has that crazy look on his face.

I can't wait to see what I wanted to after reading the manga. take a hint!

EDIT: I almost forgot. For those who want the subbed version. Ruberia FS released it . Quality is alright so go download!

Wow. The final episode was pretty sick. Different but sick lol. After the confession and Near's thoughts about Yagami, the rest of the dialogue differs fro mthe manga but I liked the way it ended. Not bad at all. I only wish they showed the whole last chapter but that didn't happen. Few things :

Spoiler:

1. You'll get to see Misa about the commit suicide or at least in thought as she's dressed in her "Loli" crap outfit.
2. Mikami killed himself O_O . And damn I haven't seen such a suicide since a few weird/bloody animes back in the 90's
3. L showed up in front of Yagami when he was dying.

Just awesome but I really wanted to see the last chapter animated. Well I guess that about really ENDS Death Note. Now to watch Hitman Reborn as it remains to be alive with other SJ titles.

I think its on the last OST which I'm uploading for all of you (Nipponsei Release =] ). It's called "Coda" Death Note Track. The song felt like that one scene in Evangelion where the 12th angel was going to die. Overall, it was great and that's that. I noticed how each seiyuu put all that dramatic effort into the last episode. Now i have to see this subbed so I know wtf was going on in the last few mins. Also, someone from another forum said that there's going to be another DN Episode Special. Mostly about the final chapter and maybe a few added goodies. Heh, I'd rather have it to be a 45 min special with the How to Read DN vol 13 or whatever.

I'll edit in 8 short mins for the third OST.

EDIT: Upload done.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/w42dxv

You know something bugs me.

Spoiler:
When Mikami killed himself, did Yagami already planned for him to just commit suicide? Sounds weird but by the look of Light, he showed no reaction and just left like that.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

jouhou - No Crying,guy ;p!

Oh, and thanks for uploading the third OST, i've been waiting for it for quite a while. Unfortunately, a lot of themes are recycled over and over again with minimal changes--both from the previous albums and from the tracks within that album (Near's themes, Light's themes..). Kind of a disappointment, but there are some stellar tracks on there (Mikami's Concertino, Coda~Death Note, Mello no Theme (IMO), etc.).
Right on the mark, p. I wasn't too disappointed but its what you would expect from a second arc that didn't go anywhere according to "True DN Fans expectations" or whatever they want to be called. It is nice listening to Aya Hirano's singing at least .

@sacred X

Spoiler:

It wasn't really too bad. The rest of the original scene from chapter 106 and 107 was in that warehouse. It would've been cool to see him beg at ryuk but even I accepted the anime's version where he ran and laid there with a heart attack via Ryuk and his death note. It could've been worse and ended with Light winning instead. That's why in return, they had Light run scared as shit and saw himself walk pass by him.

That's what I've been looking for,but still no luck. I only found a few scans that revealed some things that happened to a few characters.Viz needs to release not only How to Read but the One Shot Pilot and the story of L and Naomi case.

Maybe you can check out TownL but I doubt they ever worked on it. I guess they'll do anything to keep death note from dying another year @.@.
