You want to sit dead center, because theater sound is calibrated to hit the reference of 105dB in that spot.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

What. Unless something has changed, I'm pretty sure the reference is 88db. Perhaps I am thinking of a different standard.

Unless 105db is the peak volume, and not the average. I suppose that is OK for limited exposure.
Yes, reference means a 105dB peak for all main channels. When you add the LFE, all channels combine to create a 120dB peak. And 85dB is where the dialogue tends to fall on a properly calibrated system.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
