Elixir, even if it's true that some people should just go through the faq and learn how to, the point here is that it's for PEOPLE WHO AREN'T IN A POSITION TO INSTALL A PROPER IRC CLIENT ON THEIR COMPUTER.
Sorry for that, but seriously, the quality of the client is irrelevent if java client is the best that you can do. http://network.xelium.net/java/chat.php There's a friggin link to work with for java irc, but a nice clean chocochat would mean more new people joining who aren't in a position to install new software. Basically it's for that "unless" situation you speak of. Jam it back in, in the dark.
