I'd recommend something, but i don't know of any non-DSLR that can edit white balance after the picture has been taken within the camera itself, which i understand is something you want

Get rechargable batteries though! There's nowhere I can't reach. |
It won't be because that was a kodak dock and it probably had a propietary kodak battery in it. The huge handle on the canon you want to get is where the batteries go. I'm just saying get some rechargable AA batteries, they are unbeliebably rad for cameras.

No you don't need a dock. You'll transfer pictures though the USB cable. Just get rechargable batteries and one of those rechargable battery chargers that plug into the wall.
