for the backward compability I heard that the 1.80 firmware did a pretty good job to erase some bug, now all metal gear games pass without any bug, FFX and FFX-2 now only have problem in the cg scene (the video read a little slower then they should) but apparently there's no more any bug in game. That's what my friend said.

I think it shouldn't take that long before those problem disappear.

either a open beta later this summer or nothing till they release the game in september I think...

(by nothing I mean nothing that us can do XD)

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

lol yes nothing really special about that demo though... stardust HD is the real thing about this update. Apparently it's the best psn store game you can get for now and it really doesn't cost much! (7.99$ I think)

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

the demo was somewhat fun but it's not something I will buy. I found it way to repetitive, they could at least put more then one combo... and the graphic are almost worst than a ps2 gamesé The only thing I could see that come from the ps3 is the number of enemies on screen and that's it...

as for the update:

Quote:
The PLAYSTATION®3 System Software version 1.82 update includes the following:
  • Support for playback of AVC High Profile (H.264/MPEG-4) format video has been added. *
    * High image quality encoding method used by Blu-ray Discs and other media
  • Super-White and x.v.Color output are now supported.
  • Downscaled output of Blu-ray Discs is now supported. When 720p is selected as the video output setting of the PS3™ system, Blu-ray Discs that were recorded in 1080p or 1080i resolution can be played in 720p resolution.
  • Playability status with the PS3™ system has changed for some PlayStation® and PlayStation®2 format titles. To check on the latest status, visit the search site for compatible titles.
  • The stability of the network connection used during gameplay has been improved for some PlayStation®2 format software titles that support online gaming.

yeah this is totally stupid... I was happy that now the ps3 was the same price has the elite here in Canada. I was hoping that it could boost sell. But in the end the ps3 will still be 600$ but with a game in bundle... it's lame. In another way the xbox here is almost the same price has the launch but just bundle with 1 or 2 games, yes 2 free games is good but if you don't give a damn about those titles it still pricey...

I really fear about the ps3 not because Sony really doesn't know a damn about what they're doing with it...

I still hope that it's fake though XD

the open beta was always a rumor. I don't recall seeing an official announcement about an open beta...

that's not the open beta, that's the closed beta that started like in may or something >.> an open beta is like when everyone can participate and not only on invite...

what musharraf is talking is that there were a rumor that after the closed beta there would be an open beta of Home in July ...

Jam it back in, in the dark.

There won't be an open beta in which everyone can participate. >.> <.<
that's exactly why I said the open beta is a rumor >.>

an open beta is like when you can just register and you're automatically accepted and can play immediately, and a close beta is like when need to receive an invite to be able to play so the number of participants is restricted but I suppose you already knew all that >.>

There's nowhere I can't reach.

probably ...

anyway on another note apparently the heavenly sword demo is suppose to come out july 26 in europe. Some say that US might get it this week.

I can't wait to try this game!

OMG locoroco for ps3!! that is a must buy for me XD

as for the open beta I,m not so sure anymore :\ I think there was no official announcement (yet) that there will be a open beta in July, so that's why I said that the open beta is a rumor, but I'm not discarding that we might get it someday...

well I'm a gap member but I'm not there very often (if none at all XD) but I participate in previous psp games beta before (like killzone libertine, rachet and clank : size matter and socom)

you have a better chance to be accepted if you're in GAP but I think for now maybe 95% of the people that got accepted are in GAP.

They are probably just picking random people that are in GAP though, because like I said I participate in other beta and I just got an invite for this one...

and for the region ps store, yeah i already have an Euro account, but I don't like to play games where I really don't understand what's going on or can't even read the menu of the games, so I doN,t have a jp account (yet)

where all i can say is there room for A LOT of improvement ... the beta is just too small to really enjoy it I think XD but there's a lot of potential though. I'm pretty sure when they'll release the final version that it will be really better.

The only things I really hope they'll change is the way you place object in your home. You see they created that wonderful physic engine so the furniture behave a little like real one. So when you move and press x to place an object they like drop the object where you want it, but the object bounce a little on the drop and most of the time it change a little the direction. It's a little hard to have an object the the position you want because of that...

but I'm pretty sure they change that (I hope...)

(I guess I'll stop here since I'm not suppose to talk about the beta :\)

Jam it back in, in the dark.

you need a TV or monitor that support HDCP because if you don't, all you get is a black screen.

I tried with my computer monitor and it didn't worked :\

well like quazy said, you can use your ps3 with component cable and enjoy the 720p HD resolution on a TV that don't support HDCP.

when you need to check for HCDP TV is when you want to use the HDMI output.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
