My comparison wasn't about the quality of the title, guess I should've said that, though. I was just talking about the amount of content in the game, lengthy development time, and the size of the team working on it (Twilight Princess was Nintendo's largest undertaking). Although, that last part won't be revealed until the game's actually released.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
AcerBandit is right. I can gaurantee there will be full, or near full, disclosure on all of Brawl's secrets within a day or two of release. It's just going to be a matter of how quickly otaku can work through the game. And, I'm sure there'll be a near endless stream of new information the day it's released (not new characters, necessarily, but stages, assist trophies, trophies, stickers, boss fights in Subspace Emissary, etc.).
Also, games tend to go gold anywhere from 2 weeks to a month away from release. It's not really stretch to imagine that Super Smash Bros. Brawl has already gone gold, given just how immensely popular the series is. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Why should Paper Mario need the same move-set as regular Mario? The two are different enough in their respective games (Super Mario and Paper Mario) that it would make sense. Problem is, I dunno what exactly would work for Paper Mario's move-set; though, I'm sure something could be arranged.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but weren't there only, essentially, 19-20 characters that weren't considered clones in Melee's line-up? That is, omitting Ganondorf, Dr. Mario, Luigi, Falco, Marth (or, Roy), Pichu, and Young Link? We're at 24 confirmed characters for Brawl, with not a single clone, yet. Considering the boost in roster size we saw from the original to Melee, I think we can logically deduce that, excluding clones, there will be roughly 30-35ish (probably closer to 30) original characters. However, that's also including (likely) returning characters such as Captain Falcon (or, Ganondorf, though I think he'll get an original move set this time around), Jigglypuff, Ness and Luigi. I personally feel Marth (or, Roy) and Mewtwo are a mystery -- in terms of their odds of returning -- and I doubt we'll be seeing Mr. Game & Watch again, sadly.
I was speaking idiomatically.

Well, the 200th update is coming up this week, so it's possible they'll have something of interest then. The 100th update was the confirmation of Wi-Fi support, though I think it may have just been a coincidence.
Not that today's update was bad, I'm glad to see other Melee stages returning, but it'd be really nice if some of the original Smash Bros. stages were remade. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Pack your bags; Captain Falcon to be replaced by Red Alloy.

Spoiler:
I really doubt the validity of that supposed leaked list. Reason being that the "source" is 2ch, and 2ch can be garbage at times when it comes to leaked information. If anyone feels like checking over there, you could probably find the so-called "source," but I don't think it exists, and this guy was merely name-dropping to appear legit. Also, if the game's delayed, we'll be hearing about it relatively soon, since we're one month from release. I don't think it's delayed, though. As it hasn't been in Japan, and a US delay (unless there have been localization issues, or something of the sort), doesn't really make much sense. On another note, if anyone really cares, we'll be getting Famitsu's review score of the game on Tuesday night next week (hopefully). What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

"Twilight Change"? She's clearly going the wolf route that Link did with Twilight Princess.
But, yeah, I was expected Sheik to return, anyway. How ya doing, buddy? |
Except, there's virtually no possibility of Brawl sucking, so!

I probably would've picked up Bongo Blast if it supported the Bongos like it was supposed to before Nintendo decided to port it up to Wii.

Not to mention that very few second party developed Nintendo characters have even been included in Smash Bros. The ones that have also have been incredibly popular, see: Kirby and Pokemon. The one exception being Ness, but HAL Labs developed the game, so.
I don't really expect any Nintendo second party/unpopular series' characters to be appearing in Brawl. Edit: World Hobby Fair Nintendo-sponsored Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament in Japan roster/info: Spoiler:

Whoops, sorry, I spoiler tagged the pic. I have a fairly large monitor, so it didn't appear to be stretching the board out from my end. My mistake.
This was a surprisingly neat update. I wonder if this will also reveal how to unlock hidden characters? I was speaking idiomatically. |
I think Mo0's correct about this merely being a manufacturing-related issue as the primary cause for the delay. You can't do anything development-wise a week before release (in Japan), and the game is definitely finished.
I don't really care too much, there are a lot of games coming out between now and March 9th. How ya doing, buddy? |
The first video Chaotic posted has a ton of great footage in there, including a brief look at the Stage Builder utility. It's worth watching. FELIPE NO
