A question for anyone that knows... does anyone know where fightable Garif are other than the rare "Garif Adventurer" in The Greensnake at Ozmone Plain? I'm trying to unlock the 5-part lore for their Bestiary entry, and it's a bit of a pain wandering back and forth and hoping that he pops up amongst the birdmen.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Edit: Woops, late reply.
Um, hi there! I never really used remedies much, unless someone was Stopped. With Doom, I just waited till the person died (unless everyone was doomed at once) and then my auto-phoenixdown gambit kicks in for a minor setback. What's the Nihaopaloa trick? I was speaking idiomatically. |
Oh man! Now that's brutal
Awesome.Hehe, sorry, my "late reply" comment was because I replied to the question about what Remedy Lore does, but then realized someone had already answered it. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Also missed the Leamonde Entite since i never saw one in the game my first time through (didn't check out Nabreus that much). But yeah, totally fitting for the master dark elemental.FELIPE NO |
Honestly, not many of the guides on GameFAQs are too great. A lot of them are based still on the Japanese version, and the new ones I've seen that aren't seem to be full of misconceptions about a lot of things that get rather cleared up in the guide.
What's nice in the BradyGames book is that it gives you the real deal on how the treasure system works, has large maps to scope out (with hidden parts), and includes lots of pretty art too Some of the strategies they give aren't as effective as someone's FAQ strategy, sure, but as far as being an aide during the game it does quite well. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Sandstorms are pretty random whenever you zone within the Westersand. I'm not exactly sure what the circumstances are for getting Gnoma Entites to spawn though, or where they are. I know that the actual Earth Elementals/Chaosjets are in Tchita Uplands though. Only entite I've seen is Salamand in the Sandsea so far, though I'm not buff enough to take it on, (Level 41 currently in secundo playthrough)
I managed to get the lore on Storm, Water and Ice elementals tonight though. Thankfully it's just 2 kills per. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Beastlord Horns drop from the Humbaba Mistant, or stolen from. Either or.
And thanks, I'll let you know if I need assistance with stuff. What I may need help with from folks later on, are Lore elements unlocked from stuff I might have missed the opportunity on... Such as Ghosts from the first time through the Garamsythe Waterway... I went back tonight, and none showed up at all. It seems they only exist the first time you go through the dungeon. Similarly, I haven't been able to find any Wildsnakes in Giza... One popped up on me the first time I explored with Vaan, but since then nothing. Oh, and speaking of awesome projectile weapons... I gave Penelo a crossbow equipped with bolts that inflict Disabled status. Went off on nearly every King Malboro I fought. Happiness ensued. I'm beginning to take down some marks I never bothered with in my first time through, also. Fun stuff ![]() Oh, something neat: there's a rare game version of the Leamonde Entite called "Vagrant Soul" in Pharos Subterra. Tie-ins within tie-ins! There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Heh, I haven't used Penelo at all this playthrough since I got her (despite her being my main gunner 1st time). I do have a main party (Fran, Balthier, Ashe) and never really touched the other characters. So they're at ~20, and my party is at 43. Having had the golden amulets since the earliest possible to get them, every one of my characters has every augment unlocked, everyone has almost all the magic unlocked (except Fran, who has nearly all the Technick licenses), learned all the licenses for their two weapon lines and armor type... And I just left Mt. Bur-Omisace for Archades
So yeah, not much of a need to use everyone if you know what you're doing from the getgo. In my first playthrough I originally felt the need to level everyone the same, but again at ~level 20 I gave up and made an uberparty of my favourite characters. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
And, in the guide anyways, Yiazmat looks badass still. I'll see for sure when I do the hunt ![]() Most amazing jew boots |
He's in Nabudis behind the Door of Horrors, unlocked with the Medallion of Bravery. (Part of the sidequest for Chaos)
Most amazing jew boots |
Yeah it does... I haven't done it myself, I'm just uh referring to the 2-page spread the guide has on it. There's a lot of text, it's big and complicated

I have the item to defeat the Earth Tyrant, but I'm holding off on it until later... because I wandered through the Westersand today and there was a sandstorm and Gnoma Entite in every single map I went through. So I'm afraid that if I beat him, the quantity of sandstorms would decrease drastically... Maybe I'm just paranoid.
