From Nintendo Power this month:

Quote:
(Interviewer Steve Thomason): What are the plans for the Game Boy brand? Will we see a new Game Boy in the near future, or is Nintendo focusing on the DS for the time being?
(Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Reggie Fils-Aime): Our priority right now is driving DS and launching Wii successfully. Now that's not to misrepresent the importance of the Game Boy brand. It is hugely important to us, and we will continue to support Game Boy well into the future. Is there a new Game Boy in development? That's a question best suited for Mr. Iwata and Mr. Mitamoto. I'm focused on making sure we achieve our objectives here in the North Amercian territories.

Sort of a political answer, as he seems keen on giving throughout the interview on various topics. Still, he does mention that the Game Boy brand is a brand worth keeping. It's engrained in the minds of Americans and the Japanese. No company, especially not Nintendo, is dumb enough to give that up.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
