I've been excited about plenty of games before, but not to the point where I was hesitant to play them. That seems kind of silly to me.
Among games that I was pretty excited about getting that I ended up actually liking were FFVII, Shadow Hearts and then Shadow Hearts 2, Xenosaga, Suiko 3, Mario Kart 64, and Gran Turismo 4 in recent years. None of these had me like beside myself in anticipation though. I guess the closest to that I've ever been was waiting for Mario 3.
Of course, there have been games that I anticipated that didn't turn out to be worth caring about, such as Kingdom Hearts, FFX, and Xenosaga II recently. Yeah those didn't turn out too well.
I like it better when games come in under the radar anyways. Lower expectations means it's harder to be disappointed I suppose. I mean try to talk to some of the nerds around here about a game and all they can talk about is how much it sucks and what all is wrong with it. You never hear about its good points from them. It didn't meet their assinine level of expectations so it can't possibly be enjoyed by any other human on earth. Riiiiight.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
I didn't say I wouldn't go fishin' with the man.
All I'm sayin' is, if he comes near me, I'll put him in the wall.
