Only two come to mind first.
The final boss in Terranigma (SNES) is a favorite because I think I attempted it too early, and the battle was a challenge. I remember that there was an item that I never managed to get so the battle ended up being longer than necessary. I also didn't figure out when to block certain attacks until my second attempt. In Dew Prism (PSX), there was a boss called Cloud Whale. I remember the name of that one because I was forced to look it up in a guide after failing at least ten times. I thought there was something I couldn’t see or a trick to use, but there were none. The boss would use three or four different attacks consecutively without leaving much room for the player to attack, and I believe I was also too weak for this battle. I think I started with one or two healing items even if the boss was able to reduce the HP bar to half in one hit. A boss battle generally becomes a favorite if it happened to be unusually long or very challenging. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
