I've only heard 30 seconds of "Sanctuary," so it's still too early for me to decide what I think. I haven't seen any lyrics, so I'm interested in seeing what they'll be like.

I had to listen to the song a few times before really appreciating it. When I played Kingdom Hearts II and heard the song in the opening and its other version during the ending, I found "Passion" better.

And about them screwing up a "certain black mage".....
Spoiler:
From what I saw he looks the same as he did in FF9. I think RPGamer had scans of it....I can't seem to find them now though ><
I seem to remember seeing only a minor change in that character's design. Namely, his hat.

As for what I've seen about the game and heard of the soundtrack, it seems like we'll be replaying a lot of worlds while also going to some exciting new ones. I only hope that Agrabah and Under the Sea will have some new innovation and totally new scenes, instead of just being filler injected from the last game.
Personally I thought it was weird to have a lot of Final Fantasy characters running around in the first game, and have no FF based worlds. Wouldn't it be cool to go to a FFVI, VII, etc. world and fight some FF monsters with Goofy and Donal Duck?
I guess it's Disney's ultimate control of the series that led to this decision. I was half-expecting more FF (and maybe even non-FF series) to make a stonger appearance that didn't involve just adding characters.
They just seem misplaced and inconsistent to me.
You may be surprised with the Final Fantasy characters later on in the game. Without giving anything away, they're a little more involved.

There are a handful of new worlds, and they're interesting to explore as well.

To be honest, not that much. You basically go through each world slashing your way through enemies and trying to get to the next stages to trigger the boss fights. Of course, you can speak with the characters in each Disney world, but I don't remember being able to enter many "buildings" to chat with other NPCs.

You also visit each world twice before new ones at the end of the game can open up, if I remember correctly.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Regarding what Tritoch had posted earlier about Hollow Bastion being one of their worlds, and to end a portion of the disagreement:

Quote:
Aerith: She's been using the Heartless for years.

Leon: We lost our world, thanks to her.

Cid: One day, a swarm of Heartless took over our world!

Leon: That was nine years ago.

Thanks for that link, PuPu. I lost that earlier and had some trouble finding it again. I found that the ending from the other link didn't seem to work for me.

Seifer's voice was just as how I imagined it to be. I also don't mind Setzer's voice, but seeing that video again made me remember how easy the battle against him was.

There's that, and also an optional boss battle that players can attempt just for the the sake of challenge.

You have a point. One thing I enjoyed from KHII was the improved battle system. I found it more demanding in terms of actually paying attention to what was going on. Especially for the "Triangle" button for several boss battles.

I managed to get through on the first try.

This version will probably take some time to get used to, but it's not bad. I had to listen to "Passion" a few times before I ended up liking it as well.

I find the latter to be accurate, because it would have to be spelled as Siefer in order to be prounounced "Sai-fer". What's even worse is that the girl character (Omelett or something...) calls him "Say-fer"!

It gets worse though. Selphie briefly mentions Tidus, and calls him "Tai-dis", which is stupid since it was established in the original game that it's prounounced "Tee-dus". There was already prior arguments over which prounounciation was correct, and now this is going to start the debates all over again.

Finally, Vivi is prounounced "Vee Vee". I always used "Vi-Vee" (like Vivian). It really sucks to spend so many years prounouncing a character's name a certain way, only to find out you were incorrect.
I've always thought of them as "Sai-fer" and "Vee-Vee." I wasn't so bothered by those names, but I was surprised that they used "Tai-dus."

He also uses similar phrases just like the FFVI Setzer. His role is indeed minor though.

Instead, it looks like she's got panties on. So what's the deal, did Kairi's japanese design end up being a bit too risque, so Square USA added in some fabric?
Actually, that's really how it's supposed to be.

'protect medallion from pirates' thing. I barely do any damage to the pirates when they steal it. Am I supposed to sink the other ship with the cannonballs, or is it optional?? I don't really know what I'm supposed to do. This is the toughest fight I've encountered so far : /

Any help or hints or whatever please, such as what accessories I should be equipping and stuff?
I actually found that battle easier this time around.

Spoiler:
I was at level 25 or so when I did that part, and all abilities Sora had equipped involved combos. It left little room for the enemies to attack. I only fired the cannon three times, but I didn't have any trouble with this at all.

I found the majority of boss battles easy, but they were certainly more fun than those from the first game. I especially liked the battles that required Sora to jump onto the enemy to attack.

I just finished the English version tonight.

Since I had already seen the Japanese version of the ending, I was mainly interested in the voice acting for the ending sequences. I found it quite good, and I don't have anything to complain about.

I had planned to level up a bit more before ending the game, but I finished it at about Level 56.

I didn't mind Atlantica that much. I found it odd, but I didn't have trouble with the songs. Although tame, it was nice to take a break from button mashing for a bit.

I only found one other battle challenging besides that one, and it was the final boss. While not impossible, I was on level 56 and had to attempt it at least more than three times since the arrangements in the battle changed momentarily.

Holy crap is Xaldin ever a cheap boss >_<
I've been having a hard time in proud mode but Xaldin is Defenitly 10 steps up from the rest of the bosses I've faced. He has attacks I can't recover from and mickey is of little help since I get cought in his combos.
Is there even a way to avoid that wind dragon attack of his with sora. Its takes up the whole field >_< Gah how I hate this guy!
Spoiler:
I've yet to try Proud Mode, but I had some trouble with Xaldin on Normal as well. I don't remember what level I was on, but I would try leveling up a bit first. My general strategy was to simply use combos on him whenever I had an opening.

Also, I tend to go into boss battles with just ethers equipped. After using the cure spell at the last minute, I may wait for the MP bar to refill on its own if I have the upper hand in a battle, or if there's no opportunity to attack, I use the ethers.
