I wish they would add more fourth mix favorites back like Cat's Eye and the stuff we've never seen from the UK Console releases... a lot of those songs had excellent steps and sounded excellent as well
![]() Jam it back in, in the dark.

hmm this has exactly what I need to start playing DDR again... songs from Pop n Music, GF/DM and Dance Maniax... haha
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I think this game got delyed... again... this wait is getting boring... I wish they ordered another music game as well... one that didn't have conflicting release dates...
http://www.konami.com/gs/gameinfo.php?id=176&pid=11 I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I'm assuming they're just going to send one of those beta units to arcades that pre-ordered and those that didn't, the release is Winter 2006....
I was speaking idiomatically. |
still waiting to hear back from the local arcade..... they purchased Time Crisis 4... (WASTE!!!) wow...
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Ok so my day of television programming was ruined Saturday by crappy golf so I went to Craig's Cruisers at about 10AM and they had DDR Supernova.... so I was like the first person to play on that machine.... (that didn't work there or something) wow didn't expect that
75 cents per play 3 songs ~No doubles premium~ ~No Joint premium Lame that I can't play doubles for 75 cents. Ok here is what people need to know : ~THE GAME~ Interface : After chooseing singles/versus or whatever it asks you to select a difficulty level... DO NOT DO SO. Scroll down to the course selection and there should be something that says All Music. Select that. Otherwise selecting Easy/Medium/Hard will display only songs that are Easy/Medium or Hard.... annoying as hell! Hold down the start button when you wish to goto the mod menu... double tapping does not work like it does in DDR Extreme and ITG2. Sorting can only be done ABC/BPM and default... lame... the only way to tell what songs are from different games is to print out the songlist and take it with you... haha Gameplay : Stepcharts didn't seem offsync like people were bitching about... at least not the songs I played on Heavy and Challenge : Flowers-TERRA Xepher-Tatsh CURUS-D-crew Tino's White Horse-Morning Blue Dragon Nijiiro-DJ YOSHITAKA feat. G.S.C. KI•SE•KI (DDR edit)-BeForU Polovtsian Dances And Chorus-Naoto Suzuki feat. Martha Knock Out Regrets-MAKI@TOGO.BAND And a few other songs that I can't spot on the songlist I have available without going to the SN website I played a total of 4 times. As far as the step charts resembleing actual dances on Standard mode like they're susposed to... nope... Konami still hasn't gotten around to choregraphed steps... Music : Definitely more musical variety than any DDR before it... thanks to it borrowing songs from Drummania, Guitar Freaks, IIDX and Pop'n Music. ~THE MACHINE~ No memory card slots... like all the other DDR Supernova machines... maybe this is an add on or something that they charge the arcade even more money for :nope: The pads are pretty much like the old DDR machine pads, except new and without those fugly giant screws... they are however kind of stiff from being new... and the down panel on the right side seemed to feel odd... as in I could have swore while I was playing it rattled a little and moved a bit.... but nothing to be worried about... yet... it is a cabinet made by Betson so be very afraid of the future.... haha The pads are however not really compareable to PIU SX/GX and ITG2 pads... so you don't get that easy slide from panel to panel. The screen is a flat CRT... not quite like a Pump it Up GX/ITG2 monitor... but it was clear and certainly 100% better than those things they used on the old cabinets.. It was maybe a 22-25 inch monitor I think. What I think of it so far : Flawed but good so far.... But I have yet to try any courses or play the battle mode that I fear will suck so I'll post more Monday. If you go play Xepher on Challenge... funtastic (and the only hard song I could find thats unlocked.)FELIPE NO |
One of the rental companies here purchased two ITG2s last year... and they are non-profitable... haha... They SHOULD have gotten ONE Pump it Up Zero then used the rest to get a DDR SN... those two would be guarenteed to be profitable...
ITG2s Novice mode probably turns new players off of the game. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I assumed it was sorting them to songs that are overall :
Easy Medium or Difficult since when you selected any of those options you got just that... but it does still have some problems there... so yeah... Jam it back in, in the dark. |
The network connection to the card reader on our machine went down yestarday so it was giving out free plays........ hahaha
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Well I've been playing mostly Xepher and Knock Out Regrets... haha those two are my most overplayed songs... I'd play Tino's White Horse if the steps didn't suck... but they do... so yeah...

Well they're still the same color as Standard/Heavy and the rest... so it's not like it's that different.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Now that we've had the game for a month and I've spent sometime with it I guess I'll write a full review...
Interface : I still dislike the lack of many sorting options and having to choose all music... especially when it's all the way past the oni-course selection... Also I don't like the leveling system... you can't tell me Xepher or Sakura is in the same class as Paranoia Survivor Max... the levels need to go higher than 10 to give it more accuracy. 6/10 Steps : ~Concerning new content only~ Most of the step charts seem kind of dull or lacking but there are some that stand out... there are no choregraphed step charts so once again Konami gives freestyle the shaft :eyebrow: 5/10 Graphics : Really depends on what song you play... I like the IIDX cross over videos and songs with animations or the music video to go to them... however not having the music video for older songs like True (which had it in PS2 Max) is unforgivable!!... The dancers just make me not want to look at the screen at all... they're rather annoying... and so is the fact that the setting is always on a cube or hexagon in a room full of those lights and polygons that spin around in the games menus... ugh 6/10 Music : ~Licensced~ 2/10 Most of these are crappy but hey... Surrender your love by Javine sounds nice and isn't one of those songs with a bad step chart. ~Konami Originals~ 7/10 Nothing out of the ordinary here... which is a good thing for some but a bad thing for me... I look for variety in music in my music games. ~Cross Overs~ 8/10 The songs from Pop'n Music, IIDX, GF&DM are all great... problem is some of them were poorly edited which brings this down to an 8 instead of a 10 Hardware : What's basically here is a PS2 with a hard drive and some security features to prevent bootlegging. The pads feel just like the older DDR machines... which is a good thing to some and a bad thing to others... those others being anyone who has played on an Andamiro PIU SX, GX or AM-ITG2 cab. In otherwords the pad design has not been changed for DDR in anyway... of course if they did some people would be bitching about how responsive it is and how easy it is to get an AA as a result (like some did when ITG2 came around) 8/10 Sound : The sound effects are purely annoying as hell... especially if the volume is loud... I mean like almost person scratching a board with finger nails bad... 1/10 Gameplay : Gameplay is sometimes hindered by randomly loaded off sync step charts... guess this wasn't an apparent problem until they made the timing window tight as hell... which I don't like either. Also the game offers nothing outside of the standard gameplay modes... the battle mode is just a revived magic dance from Disney mix... you cannot control when you unleash an attack so it's about as relevant as having random mods on... This could have use the variety of play styles DDR Ultramix 2 introduced... the machine could have also used a 51" DLP monitor and 4 pads instead of two... 5/10 Overall : This game wasn't complete when it got out the doors... but it's not a complete glitch tastic piece of crap either 7/10 (Will update when update disc is out and installed) Most amazing jew boots |
Our machine gets the update patch installed tomorrow... I'm going to check out the update patch tomorrow.
Most amazing jew boots |
I never understood that about DDR players... ok you can play a FPS with a billion little things going on online and pay attention to all of the situations and yet... these same people can't view the background video while playing a song? Come on... you guys just aren't paying it any attention!!!
