This game is definitely worth checking out! I believe there was a thread prior to the crash so I feel this is a good time to begin anew. The previous beta was later shut down but they've just re-released their open beta with notable improvements!
Official Screenshots Spoiler:
This game features 5 classes. The medic, engineer, commando, scout, and heavy weapons all feature unique items. While the scout and commando can carry grenades, medics and engineers only hold healthkits and wrenches that heal players and vehicles respectivly. The heavy weapons specialist can only use rocket launchers and anti-tank mines. Weapons run the usual gambit of pistols, rifles, SMGs, Uzis, and rocket launchers. A new feature has been added where you earn money that can be used to buy a (small) assortment of weapons for each class. Vehicles in general have been updated to include boats, helicopters, and jet fighters. New tanks have been been added which bolsters the already solid amount of land vehicles available. There are three gametypes, each with their own assortment of maps: Mission Mode - Here your team is tasked your team with planting a bomb in the enemy base. This is extreme close-quarters and if you get killed you can't spawn until a team wins or loses. Small-sized, 16-player maps. Infantry Combat - Two teams fight for different bases/spawn points located on the map. A teammate must be within the radius of an enemy base's flag for (roughly) 2 uninterriupted minutes before it is captured. Your team is alloted a number of tickets which decrease with each friendly death and the first team to 0 loses. Medium-sized, 24-player maps. Vehicle Warfare - Two teams duke it over a sprawling map littered with a number bases. Many of these bases include docks, helipads, and landing strips for the vehicles previously mentioned. Encampments include flak and AA guns. Large-sized, 40+ player map. Personal Screenshots Spoiler:
Now, it's quite easy to label this as a Battlefield knock off. I can assure you that even though there are many likenesses, this game has an entirely different feel. The controls are rather smooth and the engine won't bring the average computer grinding to a halt. I suggest you check it out! ![]() How ya doing, buddy? ![]() Observant Provisions | [adult swim] "Dude, this is gonna.. Man, this is gonna wicked, like, really hurt." |
I had a classic moment where my RPG expired at the most inopportune time. I dashed away from a tank, rolled behind a structure and got into prone position. The moment I was about to fire a rocket my RPG vanished from my inventory and left a message saying, "Item has Expired!" I was promptly eaten up by the tank's miniguns. Next time I bought it for 5 days worth of time instead of 3! ![]() There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() Observant Provisions | [adult swim] "Dude, this is gonna.. Yea.. If anyone is even interested anymore!
I'm hopping on the servers right now just to take some better screenshots.. I play on the US-East server and am usually found in the Infantry channel! This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() Observant Provisions | [adult swim] "Dude, this is gonna.. Man, this is gonna wicked, like, really hurt." |
