Battletoads was an excellent franchise for as long as it lasted, and the arcade game version was a blast to play with a bunch of friends. I will never forget the Turbo Tunnel and how it probably is the sole reason my reflexes are about as trained as they are. Hitting that warp portal on the 10th or so blockade was also just as fun.

Battletoads on NES was a fucking nightmare to beat though, but great when you got the job done. It seemed like the game was being built around must have co-op play to win type rules, which was alright. Game Boy version was ridiculously easy, because all you had to do was jump+punch and you could kill every and any boss.

Battlemaniacs and the Double Dragon spinoffs were sucky, but RARE could redeem themselves with a DS version that might include wireless co-op play..

How ya doing, buddy?
