Help importing music to my 360...

Sorry to ask, because this has probably been covered before, but I couldn't find it...

Is there seriously no way to import music from my mp3 player to my 360 hard drive (just fyi, it's a Rio, not an iPod)? I mean, I can PLAY music from it through my 360, so I don't see any reason why I shouldn't be able to import it, considering I can achieve the same effect by burning the songs I want to CD and then importing from there (and thereby wasting a bunch of CDs).

Do I really have to install that damn "Music Mixer" software on my PC to avoid wasting CDs?

Exactly my problem. And from the sounds of it, wasting CDs really is the only way to get music on my drive... grrrr....
