Oh...nice.

Anyone that can translate the text displayed at Arngrim's profile?

Goddamn I'm getting more excited by the minute! I truly hope that if this game is released in the US in about 5 years, they'll use the same voice actor for Arngrim. I don't give a fuck what anyone says...that voice suited him perfectly.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Dude, I was flabbergasted at the fact that Arngrim and Lezard had the same voice actor. They sound NOTHING alike, but Jesus christ your right it IS a woman. How the hell can a woman pull off a Arngrim?! I'm scared. =(

And sorry for the late reply. My soul is bound to World of Warcraft at the moment. I'm trying to free myself, but with no luck so far. VP is my only salvation.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

A polearm? In the in-game screen she has a sword at least.

This is getting so interesting. I bet the next character will be Brahms.

Btw...any new on the composer yet? Please tell me it's going to be Sakuraba!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I think it had the most amount of English out of all tri-Ace games.
Yeah, I noticed that too. Pretty much the entire menu was english. Even most of the items had english names. Not entirely, but enough to give you a good idea of what it is. The dialogue is obviously a different story, but if you played the original it shouldn't hold you back one bit.

The execution of Barbarossa eh? I guess she didnt want to do it, and Hrist stept in and did it for her?

Happy to see you can still evade battles by turning them in crystals.

Without spoiling too much, how big of a part does Arngrim play in all this?

I heard the soundtrack is out...so tempted but I won't till I play the game. The soundtrack won't have any meaning to me unless I played it first.

So fast...

I can't pre-order unfortunately. I'll have to import it. I don't expect any big issues with it.

Can't wait the moment that package arrives. Everything will take a backseat the moment that box is in my hands.

Lezards voice actor is changed...fuck. Save to say that means Arngrim's is changed too. That's just great...

I know the Japanese kept the same voice actors. I wish the Americans stayed a bit consistent for fucks sake.

Oddrock Caves?

That place is great. Not only is it a 1 period dungeon, but the vampires there drop Broken Spears which you can later transmute in Crimson Edges which in turn convert to 6.7k MP. Getting 3 Grams is easy that way.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Lenneth with a bow does more hits then with a sword. Bow for her is better in nearly every way. More hits, better for getting crystals, easier to connect.

The only bad thing is that the highest 3 hit bow has like 1300 attack less then the best sword outside SG, so you'll sometimes have mobs where you do 0 or 1 damage, so in the end sword is better.

I really hated that in VP. bows kinda got shit at the very end. Spears and Katanas as well.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Finally got the game. Quite emberassing that it took me this long, but hey.

Like 10 hours in the game, got my good friend Arngrim, which of course will be a keeper. I like the battle system and dungeons, but still have to get used to some other things like the skill learning and that orb pickup shit.

Last night I roughly lost a hours work after dying because of one of these orbs. It had a effect that returned some of the damage I did, and before I realized it I killed my own characters. =(

How does that work exactly? when you have it in your hands its a negative effect for your group, but when its on a statue its a negative effect for mobs?

btw what are some good skills to get early on? right now I got the one that boosts RDM by 50% and ATK by 20%, and thats quite handy at the moment.

That skill that absorbs the first 100 damage seems perfect but I cant get it yet.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Sealstones placed on a Dais effect alll the enemies within the area. So if it says Area Effect: Fire damage 150% Ice damage 1/2 that means all the enemies' fire attacks do more damage while thier ice damage is halfed. If you carry the sealstone then you gain these effects. What you wanna do is put negative effects on the dais to make your battles easier. Like switching the fire with the ice damage 150% fire damage down 1/2 in an area where enemies only cast fire spells will give you a big advantage.

Most of the time stat boosters start on the Dais and usually you wanna keep these in your parties hand, or at least away from the Dais so the enemy can't get the effects. Placing negative effects on the Dais will also make your battles and boss fights much easier. If an enemy carries a sealstone it only effects that group of enemies. By defeating it you can take it yourself.

Shells are useful for neutralizing the effects of a sealstone. Like sometimes there would be sealstones that give enemies great boosts but screw your party over. Like Attack 200% but cannot access battle menu or heal. The negatives don't really effect the enemies but they could make battles worse for you. These are best dropped on a shell to deactivate it so the negatives don't effect your party anymore.

The springs can be used to grab sealstones you purchased with magic gems. You'll want to buy ones like Experience X2 and attack 120% so you can pull them out at any dungeon. Just keep in mind that the gems are kinda hard to build up early in the game, so spend them wisely.

As for skills, learn training as soon as you can. It makes leveling up so much quicker!
Training eh? I'll check into that. My guys are level 20 now and just beat the kraken. Am I a bit on track?

I got that forcefield 100 for a few hours but was too late unfortunately. Mobs were already doing more then a 100. I should try to get the 1000 or 5000 asap.

I was planning on getting the generate health skill for everyone, should I forget about that one and just go for training then?

Another question. All my guys have weapons that can do a soul crush, but none of them has one that adds 60+ energy to the gauge. what characters can? Was hoping good old Arngrim still added 80 energy like in VP1 but he only does 46. Didn't see any item or skill that doubles energy gauge like in VP1.

How ya doing, buddy?

There's something I can't figure out...maybe one of you knows?

It's about the accesories. You know the ones the monsters drop all the time, there's green, blue and red ones. all have different effects, but here's where things get a bit weird for me.

lets take for example a red one with +5% attack. On Alicia and Rufus they seem the best, but on like Adonis the red +5% attack isn't as effective, the green one is more effective, hell the +3% green one gives more, so what's the deal with that? I only realized this now, after 60 hours, but I'd like to know why. Does each character have a preset color that works best on them or something like that?

They made this system unnecessarily complicated. -_-

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Terminus:

Spoiler:
Quite frankly Freya is a bitch, she doesn't feel compassion for anyone but Odin. I really hate that woman. Don't even think for a minute she'd give a shit about anyone that isn't from Asgard. She's just as bad as Odin.

About chapter 6 characters you get:

Spoiler:
I fucking hate this. Out of the blue you get 3 characters? meh. I'm not gonna bother using any of them. I really want to use Hrist but at her current level, and the equipment I can give her she'll be a downgrade over my current group. Brahms I just don't like, never did. Lenneth I would use but same reason as Hrist, downgrade, plus I'd have to teach her EVERY skill, since our "Lenneth the creator" appearently got lazy and stopped learning skills. She comes with 2 skills!

I'll stick with Alicia, Arngrim, Rufus and Adonis for now. If I find a decent weapon that rivals Adonis's weapon I'll gladly replace him. I might replace Rufus is the time comes, but Alicia and Arngrim i'll keep till the end, even in the Seraphic Gate. I sure as hell won't go for the cliche overpowered newb group you can assemble there.

Oh and about Lezard:

Spoiler:
Was anyone actually surprised about him being from the future? I sure as hell wasn't. There were so many hints that he was.

1. He was in Dipan, you saw the time machine, he was a aprentice to the 3 mages? uh yeah.

2. He already has the Philospher stone, and knows all the forbidden magicks already.

3. Him calling Rufus the vessel of the gods was when I knew for sure.

I wonder how far this will go. I still have to do the tower.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Arngrim:

Why is it that he's laying around by the steps, just basically having a nice snooze and probably pitching a tent at the thought of Freya, but when he joins your party, there's still monsters running around.

"OKAY, I think I'll just lay down and take a rest, despite this place crawling with monsters".

I doubt they are monsters in that sense. They seem more like guardians. I think that different glow in asgard is supposed to indicate the difference.

And guest, I agree with you entirely. I REALLY hate RPGs that do that. VP2 is terrible like that.

Spoiler:
First Arngrim and Leone, then Lezard and Dylan, then if what you say is true, Lenneth, Hrist and Brahms. It's fucking annoying, especially considering the amount of effort you have to put in to proberly gear them up and learn skills. For a while I was afraid to use Rufus, fearing that the last of my story characters would go away as well. I don't want to play in fear of losing all my characters that I've been using for freaking 60 hours.

I'm just fucking glad Arngrim is back. Broke my heart when he left.

Guys do you know if all these sealstone stack?

For example the ones that raise RDM

RDM +120%
RDM +200%/disable menu
RDM +200%/-25% attack.

Do all of them stack or not? I have all 3 equiped at the moment and i can't really tell a difference.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I do think there was a actual Dylan in the past. I don't think it's just all made up.

I'm gonna start farming for that 1/4 sealstone. The horror of farming 30k magic crystals. It better be goddamn worth it.

That with the other attack reduce sealstone, and the positive ones like All stats 120%, 120% atk, all resistances 120% and hp recover 200%. Should be good.

do any of you use the sealstone that increases RDM by 200% but lowers attack to 3/4? seems pretty decent.

Not sure about skills yet. Maybe Toughness, First Aid and and the attack and defense boosters. So many skills, so few slots.

No this sealstone is one you find in one of the earlier dungeons in the game, but obviously since it needs 30k crystals there's no way you can get it then. It's just 1/4 damage output, nothing else, so it's the perfect dais sealstone.

That gold one I got. Never really use it, I haven't used money in ages. Here's what you do to get that one.

You shoot 2 photons to the top left, to the flying enemy that's there. The moment you exchange spots, jump and hold down jump, this way the enemy is floating in the air, then quickly crystalize the other enemy and keep jumping on it. Eventually the flying enemy will be in front of you and you can exchange spots with it. It's important that the floating enemy already was a bit up in the air, otherwise he'll get stuck underneath.

Heh there's another one that reduces your damage taken by 1/4, combine that with the 1/4 damage done and the enemy will do 1/16 damage hehe. There's also a sealstone that lowers attack power by 3/4. If you boost your RDM with those two 200% ones and fortify physique you'll probably be invincible...assuming he's doing physical attacks anyway.

Hell if I know. I'm still collecting 30k crystals. Only at 16k now. Best way to get them that I found so far, is get a shitload of crystals in battle. That means Rufus with Triple Edge and use the skill Killing Thorns as much as you can. They'll drop like candy. That way you get a max of 80 per battle, but even with that it takes freaking ages.

I strongly suggest you do other stuff while collecting them at the same time. I'm using this excuse to get unique equipment mobs drop there. Weapons, Armor, the works. I got level 99 on everyone ages ago. =/

1. Unlike VP1 this Seraphic Gate you can play in your normal game, it's not a seperate file that you can't use in the main game. You can join and leave whenever you want. Just a added spot on the map.

2. I'm not quite sure what triggers it. Maybe it's after the final boss, maybe it's the final dungeon. I beat the final boss first, but didn't save afterwards. You'll have to ask someone else.

3. It's pretty easy at first. It gets harder per floor. Not sure how many floors there are. I'm at the 4th floor at the moment. The puzzles however...can be a nightmare. I hope your good at photon shooting. Some of them took me 30 minutes to figure out.

It will be a nightmare getting 100% treasure on this place. I don't even want to think about finding a missing treasure...this place is HUGE.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
