It's funny. I had a bit of a dilemma like that today.
My friend came over with a portable HD today to get me some stuff, unfortunately, neither of us expected it to transfer so slowly, so we had to cancel it. Turns out that because my PC uses a USB 1.0 that it's painfully slow. I could watch movies from there, and all that, but actually copy a file would be a slow process. It could be very well that running a game directly would be no problem. I didn't try, but I would be sure to try it out somehow. See if that PC has USB 2.0 or 1.0, then see if running a game on it works fine. Other then that, as long as the game is properly installed on the HD it shouldn't be a problem. You may have to reset a few settings in WoW, but I doubt it. It will probably use the default settings. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() Soldier: Prepare yourself, rebel scum!! No, I'm pretty sure it will run.
I once installed WoW on my E drive, but had to format the drive that had windows in it. I reinstalled windows and all that jazz, and was still able to run it afterwards. The only real problem I had with it was a directx error, but that was obviously because windows comes with version...7? Not the version you need for WoW anyway. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() Soldier: Prepare yourself, rebel scum!! Arngrim : (These slipshod soldiers think they can call me "rebel scum"?) |
