Oh my Gooooooood stop restarting Lacerta!
Anyway, I plan on creating 4 accts with a different PM for each, so don't make any plans based on that. Plus I plan on using Parn over at PSOW for any armorsmithing up to that point anyway. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I'll be all over this for most of the day Friday and Saturday. I've got errands to run Friday morning (paying off my Wii, and hopefully finding an extra wiimote/nuchuk, and some other errands), but I should be on hopefully by 1 or so EST, so if anyone wants to meet up to check out Moatoob or whatever I'm game. I'm lvl 46 currently, but I'm leveling Hunter Class at the moment (lvl 5), so lower ranked games aren't a big deal.
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
a)No. I think there's a workaround people do with skype or something, but it's not supported in game per se.
b)You link techs (Technics) to specific weapons, it's not to a shortcut per se like it was in PSO1/2/4. c)Without going into to much detail, it's the same thing but better. You can strafe (while shooting), lock on, attack combos aren't so locked in in one direction, etc. It's a definite improvement, but it's still based on the same. You choose from one of four races (and gender), and you can switch classes at any time in town for a fee. Hunter/Ranger/Force are the only classes available now, hybrid/expert classes will be available probably next update. You get mission points at the end of each trial depending on how well you did, which levels up your class levels (current max is 10). The hybrid/expert classes require that you have x amount of class levels for certain jobs. d)Seems fine to me. I play with mostly people I know online, so.... e)Casts have the highest accuracy, and their default class is Ranger, so you're good to go. That's what I am actually. At the moment I've already got my Ranger class maxed out though, so I switched to Hunter, but I'll switch to an expert/hybrid class as soon as they become available. In very general terms: CASTS: Highest accuracy and defense (I think), 2nd highest Attack/HP, shitty evade and MST/TP stats. Great Rangers, Good Hunters, shitty forces (which I can attest to, I did it for 4 levels). BEASTS: Highest Strength/Defense, decent MST/TP, horrible accuracy. Good Hunters, okay forces, shitty rangers. Humans: Average across the board. Basically good if you plan on switching a lot, or using a lot of hybrid classes. Newmans: Weakest strength/HP/Defense, crazy evade and MST/TP. Good Forces, okay Rangers, shitty hunters. Some people play Newman Hunters because females have crazy evade, but they do shit damage so it's not particuarly reccommended. As far as the classes themselves go they play fairly similarily. One major difference though especially pertaining to you is that Rangers are much more support characters now. We never do near the damage that Hunters/Forces do, but our bonuses are: -We can fire and strafe at the same time with dual handguns (which are sex) and handguns. -Can go into first person mode to fire, which is extremely useful on bosses so we can hit specific body parts, like De Ragan's head, etc. -And we're more about the status effects now. You buy bullets for each type of gun. Right now we have Fire (which can cause burn damage), Ice (can freeze), Lightning (can shock enemies; they can move, but not attack...generally), and Earth (can mute enemies, largely useless atm). As you attack your levels go up, as do the level of the status effects. So we're never in the forefront doing large amounts of damage, but you're generally hitting enemies more, and causing status effects to them while you're doing it. Plus you're hitting them and distracting them from the others. I love Rangers, just keep in mind they're played a bit different than PSO since we don't do the damage we did before, but the status effects and mobility and other things more than make up for it IMO. If you think you're going to want to be a Ranger, you definetely want to go with CASTs. Make your race choice based on what classes you think you'll want to play. For example, I know that I'll never make a pure force or a hybrid class that specializes in Force first, so I went with CAST since that gives me my preffered class (Ranger) but I'm also a very solid Hunter. F)Instead of MAGs we have Parter Machinery (PM) which are pretty similar. You feed them items which increase one of four stats (Strike, Ranged, Armor, Mind?), up to 100 total levels. PM's are how you synthesize items, and if you've got your PM with higher strike levels, it's more likely to suceed when making swords and striking weapons, ranged = guns, and so on. When you get your PM to lvl 80, it turns into a little (girl) robot that you can bring with you into battle, and will fight alongside you. Which one you get is determined by your PM stats (what you feed it). For example, I got mine to lvl 100 doing all range, so my PM uses guns and rifles in battle, and so on. That's everything very briefly, I would highly reccommend you check out psupedia.org. If you spend a few minutes on there it goes over the basics very well and should give you a better idea. Double Post: Also it's a horrible misconception that Rangers got screwed. We do less damage per hit, but we generally hit way more, since we don't have to reposition ourselves for attacks or to avoid hits like Hunters do. We also rarely get hit, and usually before the Hunters/Forces even get to the enemies I'm already laying into them and Freezing/Shocking them. I don't think people realize that when we're hitting enemies, it often flinches or distracts them from hitting the frontline people. How ya doing, buddy?

I was speaking idiomatically. |
I've never heard of anyone having that problem; it's gotta be something on your end.
Also I just spent 150k on Kubara 6* dualies, why the fuck are 6* items still so hard to get ![]() What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Besides, I had about 200k, and from what I've made today combined with me selling Kyndig the 6* Tenora dark spear I was using before I switched back to Ranger, I should hit 100k or so by the time I log off tonight, so kinda whatever really :P Money isn't a terribly huge issue for me. I've spent a lot of money on misc. stuff, like a dark and light 4 star armor (for Linear Line S and holy relics runs respectively), and things like that. I usually float between 150k-200k pretty consistently, so not a big deal. Also, I never see you on anymore Lacerta >_> FELIPE NO

I'm on ALL DAY Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. And I'm on briefly every morning Mon-Thu, and every night those days. My gametime's over 300 hours, it would be hard to NOT play sometime in my hours :P
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Really? I remember you (but not the name). Mainly the tall beast guy who wouldn't shut up about the shotguns.
Also Miles gets on for the first time in weeks (?). Messages me that the game is dead, I'm the only person on his card list. Universe 1 is totally full, and 2 nearly full, which overall is nearly the busiest I've ever seen it (I can only recall one time Uni 2 was full, I think a day or two after launch), and I have 12 people on my card list on, which is more than usual. As I'm replying to this he logs off. It's as busy as ever Miles, don't know what you're talking about~ Jam it back in, in the dark. |
. I've fully aware Japan has quite a few S-rank missions. There's nowhere I can't reach.

Yeah, most players appreciate rangers. We don't do as much damage, but usually we're SE'ing enemies, and also leading them away from other people and flinching them, allowing others to get in more hits. Never let anyone tell you Rangers suck
![]() Offhand I know there's a 8* armor that has all 4 slots open, I'm not sure if there's one lower rank that has all 4 off the top of my head. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I'm just copy/pasting my post from somewhere else here since it might be helpful to people over here as well:
Only confusing thing about the update is that we're trying to figure out what's up with the "ten" s-rank missions. Japan only got TWO on the same update. So either getting a bunch more at once ahead of the JP updates, OR they're referring to ten s-ranks available over the course of the weekly updates. Everything else sounds good. FYI we'll be able to buy 7* weapons and armors at NPC (made), and 8* weapon and armor boards. We'll also be able to buy synth mats up to 8*. It's also important to remember that 7* and up is A rank, and even JP does not yet have a rank grinders (the board is still not available), so you may have to do some 6* grinded to 7* base weapon comparisons to see which is more worth it to you. I sat down, and with almost all of my stuff (ranger mostly), I'd have to grind to at LEAST +5, if not higher, to exceed the base stats of the 7* for that class, so I'm going with mostly 7* stuff. Also keep in mind that w/7* and up weapons, only ONE manufacturer makes each type of weapon. For example 7* and up only GRM rifles are available, Youmei's are no longer made. Kubara's are the exception to this rule. Also extended class only weapons (Axes, crossbows, etc) start at 7* and up only. This cuts down and making choices :P. NPC prices: Weapons: 5* - 18500 6* - 35000 7* - 90000 Weapon Boards: 6* - 23400 7* - 60000 8* - 110000 Armor: 5* - 45000 6* - 95000 7* - 210000 Armor Boards: 6* - 31500 7* - 52500 8* - 90000 A rank metals (all those common fairly 7* ones, like chicotite, cyral, etc): 2500 Nano/Ortaresins: 7500 Mot/Ebon/Neu Ebons: 4000 Kerseline: 4000 Vestaline: 6000 It's going to be interesting to see the market totally crash on a lot of current stuff, like the Teroline's going for around 250k right now, etc. I've ultimately decided on Fortegunner, at least for now, and here's my first round of purchases: 7* Cubo Upinde (Crossbow) - 90k 7* Asami-Zashi (Dagger) - 90k 7* Gurre Neida (Grenade Launcher) - 90k 7* Laser Cannon (Laser Cannon) - 90k 6* Falcon (Rifle) - 90k (backup rifle, I always carry 2) 7* Assassin (Rifle) - 90k 7* Beamgun (Handgun) - 90k 7* Beam Vulcan (Mechgun) - 90k 6* Seva Falsan (Tenora Works Saber) - 35k (IIRC Youmei makes 7* and up sabers, not too impressed with the stats) 7* Shigga Boma (Shotgun) - 90k 7* Mugungri (Spear) - 90k 6* Ryo-Pistatorec (Twin Handguns) - Already have (backup twin handguns) 7* Bulletmaster (Twin Handguns) - 90k 6* Teroline (Armor) - 95k (Also IIRC, none of the 7* armors are that impressive, wait for 8*) For those keeping track at home, that's a whopping 1,000,065 meseta. Obviously as a fortegunner the hunter weapons will come last, but still. That's also not counting new units that will be available, nor the fact that once I'm done with that, it's time to start saving for 8* boards and materials, or the 8* weapon/armor NPC update (whichever is more viable at that point). Then we ALSO have new clothes/parts. These haven't been mentioned specifically yet, but JP got these in the same update as the expert classes, so we should be getting these at least: ![]() First male and second female human set: Shirt - 20k, Pants - 15k, Boots - 10k Second male and first male human set prices: Shirt - 30k, Pants - 22.5k, Shoes - 15k Male and female cast set prices: Torso - 40k, Arms - 18k, Legs - 25k So I need to add another 83k to my total for all the cast parts as well. At the moment I've got about 350k. I have no expectations of getting all the money by the update, but I want to try to at least be able to afford all the cast parts, armor, and new types of weapons available (which would be about 440k). All prices please give credit to people at PSOW. Also Kiryogi or whoever please correct any of my info if it's wrong. Edit: SHIT, I forgot Casts also get 2 new SUVs. Any importers happen to know which one is better and/or how much they each cost? They're the Rafal Buster and Sturm Buster if that helps. Edit 2: If I'm reading the JP wiki correctly: Rafal Buster is 2500, and is the stationary version of the gatling gun we have now, and the Sturm Buster is 6000, and is the rotating version of the laser (Grom Buster) that we have now. That more or less makes sense, confirmation would still be nice though. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Also guys it's been confirmed by clumsy that the "ten s-rank missions" refers to missions over the course of the next month in weekly updates, ie we're not getting all 10 next Thursday.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Traps are largely a crapshoot. Even the G traps will usually only hit one enemy (in most levels). Traps seem to hit multiple enemies in Linear Line missions, but everywhere else you're lucky to get more than one hit. I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed with Protransers honestly. Their stats are horrrrrible (although they get fairly decent by lvl 10, but still not near other classes), and they have some of everything, but they were lacking my preferred weapon of each type. Lame.
FELIPE NO |
With the update coming Thursday night/Friday morning, I think I'm going to take a break until then. Right now I've got about 560k, plus I have some stuff I can sell, I'm hoping to wind up with about 600k Friday morning, which will be enough to get all the new stuff that I REALLY need/want. I've also got nearly all my bullet PAs to 20 that I want. Only ones I don't have to to 20 are Shock on my rifle (at 17), Fire on my rifle (at 1), Fire on my shotgun (at 7?), and Earth on my mechgun (at 15). I maaay also go Earth additionally on my twin handguns, but that's lower priority.
I don't want to burn myself out on the game, and I've been wanting to play something else to break it up, I'll probably finish Rocket Slime. Plus my hand is literally starting to hurt from playing as a Ranger, I really need to look into getting a rapid-fire controller, even if it sucks. I'll hop on briefly each night (and possibly in the morning) for minor shop management, and that's it. So no one look for me during the week, see you all Friday~ What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I've had a 100 ranged PM for about 3 weeks now.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
The only weapon I have Earth on is Mechgun, and contrary to popular belief mechguns suck for applying SE's because they're stuck at Lvl 1 SE (which I was not aware of when I chose it). Neudaiz Relics is nothing but light creatures. Until we get dark/light bullets, Neudaiz relics and all the Linear Line missions are really going to suck for Rangers, especially LL S. Shock apparently works very well in Linear Line S, even with shotguns, which is why I got that on all my stuff.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
From what I've read, so long as you're not a total idiot, you'll be fine in LL. Apparently the Megid doesn't get really bad until later S rank missions and so on (Hive maybe?)
Also I don't have a link handy, but apparently the PS2 version has dropped to $19.99 and the 360 version to $29.99 at amazon o_O This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Well people are saying it's not as bad as it was with the Lillies in PSO, so I can deal with that. Also I'm down for a meet on Friday, but what level are people at? As far as I know on Friday the two s-rank's we're getting are both LL missions, which require 35 and 45 respectively.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Don't you have 2 chars though? And yeah, I've got 10 scapes in the bank and 7 on me, I'll pick up a few more and probably max out on me, and in the common storage >_>
Most amazing jew boots |
I've seen s-rank videos, they're pretty damn fast. IIRC enemies look a little different on s-rank as well, kinda like in PSO from normal/hard/vhard to Ultimate.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Damn straight!
Anyway Kyndig's given up the game. For the record, it has nothing to do with content or whatnot, he just doesn't like it as much PSO (he prefers PSO's levels, mags over PM's, etc). Anyway, he gave me all his stuff, which was about 200k and a crapload of items. My shop was pretty much tapped out, but I'm offloading pretty much everything he had really really cheap. I don't really want to make a longass list, but stuff's going pretty fast. Do a search for my shop (Daravon PS2/PC). I've got: Plenty of 5* weapons for 4-6k Kusatarika Vest for 4.5k Kusatarika Shoes for 2k And shitloads of most all synth items. I come nowhere near to fitting everything into my shop. Things of note I currently have that are NOT in my shop are: Full set of Vilogis 6* cast parts. Retail for full set is about 42k, I plan on selling it for 20k, I'll give it to anyone here who wants it for 15k (I'll lower prices for anyone here anyway actually). I've also got various grinders, and almost all synth items that are NOT in my shop currrently are in my storage. There's only a few I don't have, Uptelines, ebons, and mot/neu ash's are the only synth items off the top of my head that I don't have, at least right at this second. FELIPE NO |
I'll the weapons were gone when I got on this morning except for one 4* weapon. I fully restocked the store when I left, I imagine it'll be mostly gone again by the time I get home. Still have some synth stuff and more common decos left to put in, but nothing hugely exciting that's not already in there.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
UPDATE IN 5 HOURS BITCHES
I plan on waking up at probably 6-7am tommorrow and playing most of the day. Also still trying to move through Kyndig's stuff as fast as possible in my shop. I've probably sold about 100 items. I've already sold most of the really really good stuff, but everything I have in my shop I'm going to drop to really really low prices just to try to clear stuff out before tommorrow morning. I don't need the money so much (I've got about 930k, more than what I need for everything tommorrow), but I just want to clear this stuff out. This is what is still available, and the prices they will be at: Dual Pallasch 1k Ageha-senba 18% Dark 9k! Monomate (20) 10 Moon Atomizer (3) 75 Kusatarika Shoes 1k Meganite (57) 10 Giganite (2) 60 Pannon Jelly (32) 70 Vanda Derma (10) 70 Acenaline (10) 9 Wenceline (32) 12 Aporaline (9) 35 Marseline (3) 650 Hot Berry (22) 25 Stamina Berry (23) 20 Moatoob Truffle (19) 10 Poison Truffle (30) 10 Mad Truffle (116) 10 Rotten Truffle (84) 10 Balji Truffle (52) 15 Love Berry (286!) 100! Hustle Berry (7) 120! Omega Acid (7) 300 Paper Lantern (3) 300 Grinder C+1 (7) 40 Grinder C+2 (1) 45 [B] Gourmet Cake 50 I'm apparently known as one of the best player shops (o_O), and most of these I sell out consistently at higher prices already. This is something I'm just doing for people here and at another board I post at. I had thought originally I was going to just unlock the room, but I think what I'm going to do is just post the pass here: 5050. Remember character name is Daravon, and this is PS2/PC. I'll be heading to bed in about an hour, hour and a half, and at that point I'm going to unlock the room, and probably put one or two of the prices back up. Aside from that shameless self-promotion, who's going to be on tommorrow? And I still need to get fnord's card >_> Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Sorry, had to get off, having some kind of network probablem. Game disconnected me. Took 3 tries to get back on, but I then decided to go ahead and stay off. Not having any other internet problems, so I'm wondering if it was something on PSU's end or not.
