Just watched episode 26 couple nights ago; was surprised a whole 'nother arc is starting @_@.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Trailer form Viz, with Light's Voice and Ls voice through the filter
I'm not sure if i like Light's but well see what becomes of it, happy watcin
Well, I just watched through skipping jolts of sound and video, but for what it is, I don't think Light's voice isn't all that too far off than what the "image" of who Light actually is: an EMO kid basically trying to rid of the world's scum to paint a portrait of *his* picture perfect world. Regardless if you've heard the original Japanese voice acting or not, if the American voice actor is trying to portray strictly what Light is from reading strictly from the script, then the end product of that trailer is most likely close enough as it is.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

To me it Yagami's voice sounds a bit like what you'd get if the person who did ALaddin back in the day went a bit emo. It sounds a bit too Disney for me but totally shunning a whole show based on a trailer is judging a book by it's cover so I might wait until I see the first episode before I pass my judgement.
I don't want to go back to my post above and have to re-explain myself, but yeah, if you were a EMO high school kid wanting to get rid of the "bad people" in the world, wouldn't what Yagami sounds like be some-what appropriate?

I'll agree with the majority here that yes, the voice acting is horrible and his voice is annoying compared to what we're all used to. But it isn't to say it's not fit for the act... if the voice matured along with the series and throughout the ending arcs (episodes 27~end) when Light's supposively 23-24 in age, then I probably wouldn't have a problem. For a 16, 17 year old, it seems appropriate for what it is now (the Light voice in the trailer).

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I think you'd find most Japanese anime series ending in tragic deaths or morbidly depressing scenes. Somehow they like butchering people into crying after endings.

I think Japanese people cry too much in general though. Like WTF is the point in crying at your graduation? Anyhow...yeah episode 37: I'll just note I'm not too disappointed.

I might go back and go read the manga or something. If it's only 12 volumes it'll cost me roughly $9 or so to finish the series (local manga-rental stores FTW!).

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?
