OK, I need some advise regarding the Wii:
My family has owned all Japanese consols my entire life, except for the SNES since the earlier models were able to play Japanese cartridges as long as you broke off some parts of the plastic stoppers. Any consol we bought, it was no question that we had to buy one that supported Japanese games, because that's what we played. I'm considering buying the Wii, and I can get my hands on a Japanese one for about $400 US dollars including shipping. My question is, would it be worth it? Getting the games for it isn't that hard considering I live in the Los Angeles area, but would my boyfriend (who totally can't understand Japanese) be able to enjoy it with me too?? Please advise, thanks!! Most amazing jew boots |
Thanks guys!! I didn't expect an immediate answer, but the extremely fast response is VERY much appreciated!!! <3 <3 <3
Yes, I was looking at your list of VC games and I couldn't help but cry out in nostalgia for some of the games listed in the Japanese section. I mean, I pine for some of them simply just because my old consoles are not so reliable any more but I still want to play those games. I figured that my bf's only going to be spending time with me at my place for about 3-4 hours during an evening (we don't see each other much simply due to confilicting work/school scheudles) and half of that is usually involved in making dinner for the two of us, so logistically RPG's would not be a good choice of game to play together...that leads to interactive games like sports or racing games. Those I believe don't involve too much "reading" per say involved, so I don't mind translating the "go here for options" and such. A lot of the Japanese games released for the SNES (like Mario Kart) have been relatively language barrier-free, so I figured if those VC games are available where it doesn't involve too much text, then that's a major plus for me since my father would definitely want to play these and if my boyfriend who can't speak a dime of Japanese can interact with my dad with abismal English skills and bond through playing the Wii, it would be a very ideal situation for me. Thanks guys! I think I'll opt for the Japanese consol, but I'll hold off on the purchase until I see a definite game that makes me want to play it before it's released in the States, or if there was some way I can connect on a US Server with a Japanese consol (high hopes, I know). For now the information you guys gave me is plenty good. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
