[PS2] Final Fantasy XII

Whoa, awesomeness! Those in China said they bought it for about 300RMB, so it's much cheaper than Japan. I'm going over to my friend's place to see if he got hold of it and probably stay there for a few hours to watch him play.

Is the soundtrack even out? I thought the official release date is 19/4/2006?

a character dies. Although...they may be referring to Ashe's husband, Rasler? Heh, I even heard people saying that all the female characters will die, leaving the guys at the end of the game.

You never know, it's been 2 days since the Japanese version was released, probably some FF fan in Japan had already completed the game..

Initial release date for the English version was set in August, then now pushed to November...

The pictures of the final boss was posted on March 17, about a day after the release (but they probably got hold of the game earlier).

And now the FMVs of the ending are already posted a day later (March 18).

I'm not giving Craze a hard time here; he didn't know. I should have just went with my gut instinct that turned out to be right and never posted anything pertaining to the final boss because what I "knew" was untrue. Now I think know this for sure... and possibly in the worst way.

Craze, please tell me you didn't see these pics yourself and you are just going off of 2chan chatter.

lol, wrong usage of words I guess, I mean I'm about nearly done with the FMVs of the game already. No, I don't hate FF of course, but I've been busy with school work lately so I won't have so much time playing.

Right, I think we're talking about the same thing. I mentioned pictures of the final boss is out, so it's no surprise that... I didn't mention any names, did I? I wasn't actually trying to imply anything, but just stating the possibility. What I posted can't be counted as spoiler, since it doesn't really reflect anything, unless you picked up stuff from elsewhere. (which you mention you did )

I'd choose not to spoil myself, but having to juggle time between school and work I barely have time for games now, I can only play about 4 hours max a week. It's already 3 months now and I'm barely halfway through Star Ocean III.

Actually in the demo that came with DQVIII I remember monsters did attack other monsters...so who knows? I'll have to double check on that.

Well you can't expect them to always come in group, it might be a little boring after a while. Besides, they're monsters, so I guess their only instinct is to get rid of you? Doesn't really matters which monsters team up..

Wow, 138 hours without completing sidequests is considered pretty long! Although from what I've seen so far it doesn't look like a very long game...

It's not exactly free, is it? You have to buy all the Mimette Greens, and tons of other expensive food...the stables aren't cheap either

I think no game beats Magna Carta in terms of loading time :P I'm about 2 hours+ into the game and I don't have problems with loading times, takes about few seconds?

So far about 2 hours 30 mins into the game, and it's great. I wouldn't say it's perfect, but very few games nowadays manage to get my attention and I'm somewhat addicted to FFXII already.

Like the idea of all characters being able to use the same weapons/accessories etc, but I must say gils and LP are really hard to come by. Clocking in 2 hours+ I only have 300Gil...and when did a simple potion cost 70G?

Yeah, but they don't worth a lot right now (stones, pelts etc). And I have a bad habit of keeping at least 1 item of everything just in case I need them later on. So it's safe to sell off all loots acquired besides the ones you mentioned?

I think the slowest loading time I had was about 15 seconds. Didn't know what took so long..

About 4 hours into the game and still in Giza plains right now, trying to do some levelling up. I'm surprised that treasures are re-spawning, and it makes me glad that at least you're rewarded by revisiting the area

Out of 5 people I asked so far, only 1 disliked the battle system. I think I adapted pretty well to the battle system although it's pretty new to me, no thanks to my under exposure to online games. I currently have my lead without gambit, and other characters on gambit..I do agree that it gets pretty easy after a while since the AI is controlling everything...I do miss the old turn-based system. But I can't say this is bad, it really depends on how you see it.

About 11 hours into the game and there's nothing much to the story yet, so maybe the story will be one of the weaker ones among the rest.

At level 17+ (I think) I managed to defeat Garuda easily without using the seed. I actually defeated the Yensa-eater thing but I forgot going back to the moogle. So yeah....that Garuda is weak against one of the magicks, either aero or thunder. I casted a few rounds and it was down soon after.

Since it's pretty much the first healing spell you get besides that crappy First Aid, I don't like how it takes forever just to cast Cure. Oftentimes the person dies before you even cast it.

I'm assuming you're underlevelled or something since Leviathan is pretty early in the game and you have Vossler with you, correct? I didn't have much trouble either, just play around with your magicks sometime. Dark and immobilise really helps when you're against a group of enemies.

As for curing, perhaps you should set your gambit- Allies HP<20/30%- Potion. I'm pretty sure it'd be better than betting on Cure.

So far the difficulty is just alright for me, except for some mob hunts where they could smash your party in one blow. Or perhaps I haven't played enough (on my way to Ozmose Plains)
