I don't even see that : /

B-Movie or no, Gojira did very well at the box-office when it first came out in Japan. It pretty much set the stage for giant monster movies at that time.

Just like all the other Godzilla movies, this one is pricy, but this one has both JPN and US versions, which is cool. I'm trying to get all movies on DVD.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I wouldn't call the newer Godzilla movies 'b-movie fluff.' Unlike the older movies, the new ones have much larger budgets and more serious (for Godzilla anyway) stories. Certainly not 'b-movie' material.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Um, I thought the human sidestory took the center stage in Final Wars, not Godzilla fighting 15 monsters. The big G took a backseat in that movie.

The newer G movies sure don't look like 'B-movies' to me, but that's only my opinion.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Well, G Vs Destroyer and G Vs. Spacegodzilla are available on one DVD pack, but there's no Japanese language track. I have all the Millennium movies on DVD, plus a few others from the earlier years. I also have Gojira on my hard drive.

I like the monsters in the series too. They're pretty cool. My faves are Godzilla (dur), and Anguirus.

Update! Wow, Amazon.ca is selling the DVD for $17.28. It's much cheaper than any other Godzilla DVD. Great stuff.

Wow, amazing. I finally find a boxset that has Godzilla movies that I don't have. In all the other boxsets I find, there's usually one or two movies that I have already, and that kinda puts a damper on purchasing them.

Granted, I do have Godzilla's Revenge (why they named that for the NA release is purely beyond me. Godzilla doesn't even get any revenge), but it's the old Sony Wonder version with no Japanese language track (and probably edited to boot). Fans treat it as 'the worst Godzilla movie ever made,' but I loved it as a kid and it's still enjoyable even now.

I'd get the boxset just for Godzilla Raids Again. I've never seen it (as with all the other movies in that set), but it has Anguirus in it. I don't think this movie has ever come out on DVD here either. Any idea on the cost of this boxset? I hope it's not something like a hundred bucks Canadian.

Update: *Whew!* Boxset is $52.49. Better than $100.

P.S. I think Sony does a pretty good job with their Godzilla line as well. The only issue I have with them, aside from a lack of extras, is the subbing track can get pretty iffy at times, like the scene in All-Out Monsters Attack where a guy is CHEERING when Ghidorah is hit by a missile. In another movie (forgot which), a guy says something and the subtitles says '????' where the word should be. I guess whoever was working on it forgot to go back and correct that.

Haha. Just 'cause I said that doesn't mean I agreed with it, but yes, the director of the movie apparently thought the human side story was more important than the monster fights. There's a lot more scenes with the humans/mutants and when Godzilla does appear, the fight is over in minutes. I personally thought those non-monster scenes were hideously boring, and while the monster fights were very short, I thought they were well done in the short amount of time they were in.

That's because GMK is not subtitled for the Japanese track, but for the god awful dub that has them cheering when they are saying "Shit!" in the original audio...

Also, I think this is the scene you are talking about where someone forgot to fully subtitle the line:

Yeah, I did hear about that on various websites. Thanks for telling me what the guy was supposed to be saying, as I didn't know. My favourite Godzilla movie has the correct Japanese subtitles though, so that's good.

That's the scene all right. Silly subbers!

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

As long as we're still getting these movies on DVD, I'm happy, and the price is right too, compared to other Godzilla movies. Is Mothra Vs. Godzilla the first appearance of Mothra, much like how G. Raids Again is the first appearance of Angie?

When did Mothra vs. Godzilla come out then?

Is that...Rampage in your avatar? Beast Wars rocks.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?
