Man, nobody mentioned the king of movie-based games, Tie Fighter. That game is a total blast. I wonder if anyone actually hates the game. I wish I could play it again, but on the Windows platform and a new joystick.
Pretty much any old LucasArts Star Wars or Indiana Jones games were awesome, such as Dark Forces and Fate of Atlantis. More recent games I've enjoyed are Indiana Jones and The Emperor's Tomb and SW Episode 1: Racer. They sure know how to make movie-based games good, unlike most other companies. Another noteworthy title is AvP 2. You can play as an Alien, people! It doesn't get any better than that. How ya doing, buddy? |
My top 5 games based on movies. Not surprisingly, all five games are from the same company. LucasArts has a knack with making excellent movie-to-game conversions.
![]() Dark Forces, one of the best FPS' ever. It actually had a story line, excellent voice acting as always, and it was set in the Star Wars universe. The only bad part was that you couldn't use light sabers. ![]() Star Wars Episode 1: Racer, an excellent racing game with uber-fast speed, great music, and lots of awesome locales. Sure, episodes 1-3 sucked, but who cares. This game rocks. ![]() Tie Fighter Collector's CD-ROM, one of the best games ever to grace the PC, if not the best. Highly recommended. ![]() Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb. The combat system used in this game is one of the best things about it. Definitely captures the Indy magic like in the movies. ![]() Indiana Jones and The Fate of Atlantis, a definite classic in the days of point-and-click adventures, with great characters, three different paths to the end, and a good score. UPDATE: CRAP! I didn't know I had already posted in this thread before. Oh well, this new post has PICTURES. You mods, you can go delete the other post I made. Yok yok! It's #16. There's nowhere I can't reach.
