Okay, I am currently

Spoiler:

]inside the haunted mansion in the basement on the 6th day.

It could be just me, but I find the intro dreadfully BORING. When does the plot/game pick up? Give me generic answers as I don't want to be spoiled. Am I close or not even? KH was more faster-paced than this.

P.S. From what I've played so far, the voice acting is better than in KH. Two thumbs up.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

So how far am I away from getting to the more exciting parts? I presume I'm close, as today it supposed to be the last day, or second last day. I'm sick of Twilight Town, heh. Who the hell came up with those odd jobs? Talk about dull.

I'd rather just fight enemies for extra cash. It's more exciting than a bunch of stupid 'games' that weren't exciting in any shape or form.

I just noticed something. Is Setzer related at all to the FF character? I am asking because the KH Setzer looks nothing like FF Setzer, and he sure doesn't act the same as well, not like Seifer and the gang.

Is the name just a concidence?

Oops? Forgive me, it's been quite a long time since I've last played FFVI. I didn't realize he had some similiarities. Wouldn't I give to see Locke though. He's my second favourite FF character.

I played more tonight, and woah, I FINALLY can go to other worlds! I stopped at the Land of Dragons 'cause my little sister wanted me to go there. If I had known earlier that I would have needed Cure, however, I would've went to the other worlds instead. Oh well.

Now here's my thoughts on what I've experienced so far.

1. They actually fixed all the bloody issues I've had with the battle system from the first game, OMG! The issues I had an extreme annoyance with were the fact you 1) couldn't open treasure chests during battle, 2) you couldn't leave the area during a battle (if you wanted to go somewhere and you had to pull a lever to open a door to advance, then it's tough luck for you!), and 3) if you went even a step forwards after defeating a dozen enemies, a dozen more enemies will appear to give you major grief, forcing you to battle when you don't want to. THANK YOU, SQUARE!

2. Gotta love the voice-acting, but unfortunately, the FF characters didn't quite pass the Quality test. I agree with everyone that Aeris sounds just too flat. She's my only major beef though. The rest are decent enough. Yuffie's acting is good. Cid is good too. The fact he sounds like a Southern this time around doesn't mean he's a bad voice actor. However, decent as they may sound, they could've been great if only they put a little more effort into it.

3. I can't remember everything that was mentioned in this therad, but am I the only one who thinks Leon's model is a major improvement this time around? Compared to his KH model, his hair and face in KH II is much nicer, and I just love his facial expressions. They're very impressive, and the fact that Squall is my favourite FF character of all time just makes it even better. It's like I am looking at a totally different character.

4. I hate the whole 'morale' thing in battle.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Yes, Pete is a cat, and to date that hasn't changed. As for him not looking like a cat in his more modern outings, lots of other cartoon characters don't look like the animals they supposedly represent. That's the beauty of cartoons. They don't have to be confined to 'reality.' Bonkers D Bobcat, anyone?

Well, Pete had PJ before A Goofy Movie actually. AGM is based on the TV show Goof Troop. PJ looks just like Pete though, only younger. Max and PJ and lots of other TV characters should have been in Kingdom Hearts, Gargoyles and Tale Spin especially.

I finished Timeless River today and went to Atlantica next. Timeless River was pretty darn cool. Did anyone besides me feel bad when you fought
Spoiler:
old Pete? He had done nothing wrong, and there you were hacking away at him and all he wanted to do was try to get away from you. Those animations of him freaking out and running made me feel really sorry for him. Also, I forgot he had a tail back then!

Atlantica was crap during the time I was there. Man, that song in the musical is really annoying. "Finny fun?" Whoever wrote that song should be shot. Whatever happened to Under The Sea? I hated Atlantica in the first game, and it's just as bad in the sequel : /

Did Port Royal piss you off like it's doing to me? It's my first time there and I keep getting trashed in that
Spoiler:
'protect medallion from pirates' thing. I barely do any damage to the pirates when they steal it. Am I supposed to sink the other ship with the cannonballs, or is it optional?? I don't really know what I'm supposed to do. This is the toughest fight I've encountered so far : /

Any help or hints or whatever please, such as what accessories I should be equipping and stuff?

To both replies to my post:

Spoiler:
Level 25? Arggh...I think the gang are only at level 18. The problem is that the enemies tend to gang up only on me, and it's hard for me to concentrate on the one that has the medallion. I fired the cannon lots of times, and nope, I never win. D'oh. I find the ability that lets me get up in midair after getting thrown in the air helpful as it takes too much time to get back up without it. Or maybe I just suck at fighting. I guess I have to level up then.

Spoiler:
Oh, I can try using Thunder next time. One thing though. I'm supposed to fire the cannons to win, right?

I was using the Monochrome keyblade.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Beat all the pirates? Whenever I kill one (usually the one who has the medallin), another one comes! I always get three pirates no matter what. I must be doing something wrong here.

Heh, I was just going to mention something. Lots of Disney songs are good, but those ones in KH II has got to go. It makes me wonder if the game was targeted at little LITTLE kids with such lyrics such as finny fun. Oh my.

From what I understand, however, I must play through Atlantica to see the secret ending? Arrgh....

P.S. Gonna try tackling those evil pirates tonight :(

I said little LITTLE kids, not little kids. By little LITTLE kids, I mean kids in the five and under set, haha.

Seriously, who above the age of 10 actually likes those songs?

Man, I wanted to skip Atlantica entirely myself, but nope, my little sister must go there, even though she agrees with me. WHY ME!!!

Unfortunately, I am on Standard Mode, so yeah, I think I need to complete the journal to get the secret ending. Arrgh...

You haven't seen Scrooge in Hollow Bastian?

Unfortunately, Disney doesn't seem interested in putting in TV characters into the series. I assume it's because they don't have as worldwide an appeal compared to the shorts and movie characters. Gargoyles and Tale Spin worlds would rock. I'd just LOVE to see Don Karnage in KH! He's my favourite Disney villain or all time.

Ahhh, you have a good point there. Pretty much 97% of their TV shows are based on either a movie or classic characters like Goofy. So from the remaining shows left, there's only...Darkwing Duck, Gargoyles, Raw Toonage, Gummi Bears, Bonkers, and the Schnookums and Meat Funny Cartoon Show. Erm, not much choices, eh? The only one I like in that list is Gargoyles...Darkwing Duck is okay.

I don't count any of the shows they're airing now and for several years, 'cause they all suck : /

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Well, as long as there's more 'Part of Your World' and 'Under The Sea' than 'Finny Fun,' then I'd be cool with it. I haven't went back to Atlantica yet. My little sister didn't want to play last night, so I couldn't kill the pirates. I will try tonight.

Oh, well that's good to hear!

Well, after several more tries, I finally defeated the pirates. I'm in Halloween Town now. The plot seems to be dragging right now. The last couple of worlds didn't have any new surprises.

'And then we can go see Santa Claus!'

Not the exact quote, but did anyone else find it amusing?

The battles are the new worlds are better than the first game. However, the first game wasn't very hard to advance through the worlds, I thought. Didn't see much in the way of puzzles. Basically if you've played KH, KH II isn't much different.

I'm at Twilight Town the second time now and I'm having a terrible time with those Beserkers : /

They're all like that, espressivo, but I'm finding the game to be pretty darn tough now. I'm currently at Hollow Bastion's second visit and I've already encountered a string of very tough mandatory battles and boss battles. The boss in Hollow Bastion is now giving me major headaches : ( I've spent all my time trying to beat him today, and I never won. Whoever said this game is EASY must be uber experts :(

P.S. I'm finding Atlantica to be very fun now XD I take back everything I said about it. It's awesome hearing those TLM songs again, although whoever sings for Ariel in Under The Sea is horrible. Only the Finny Fun song is actrocious. Did anyone else find it hilarious when you see Sora's torso up close in Under the Sea?

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Nay. I'm talking about that guy with the water clones. He constantly attacks from afar, making it very hard just to get near enough to him to attack. Using the Trinity limit helped me a lot, but I end up dying when I'm on his 2nd to last HP bar. If there's any tips you can give me, then great.

Aww man, I was going to post here on the same day GFF went down, but I now see it is back up. YAYY!!

I wanted to say 'thanks a frickin' loads' for helping me get past the boss with the water clones. The tips you guys gave me is an infinite times better than the stuff in GameFAQs.

Now I know who to turn to when I need more assistance. Thanks again!!

P.S. I'm fighting the boss at Land of Dragons (2nd visit) now.

How ya doing, buddy?
